OK, I really need to call Cyan Lightning’s tagging policy into question because of their constant insistence on removing shipping tags from pictures clearly made with shipping intentions.
Most notably are the pics done by artist
5mmumm5, an artist who
clearly ships Sunsetsparkle, so why, I need to ask, do they
keep removing the tag from all of these pics?
I mean, I could understand if it in other situations (i.e., the characters just standing together), but when there’s clearly romantic context, such as
the characters sharing a bed and snuggling together,
a moment of intimacy and tender care,
or a set of several pics clearly connected together not just by context (same clothes and similar enviorments), but also the
Pixiv and
Twitter posts, in a context that can easily be read as Sunset and Twilight sharing a date, I really ought to call into question this decision. Trying to push an argument of these being “just friends” scenarios when we
know the artist clearly ships them is just disrespectful to everyone involved.
This ain’t even the first time Cyan has done this sort of stuff, previously removing the Rarijack tag from a set of pics that also had clear romantic context (and from the same artist), or removing a the shipping tag from a pic
where Sunset’s got her hand right over Twilight’s butt.
I bring this up here because I’m currently faced with the “Stop! This user is a staff member. Ask them before reverting their changes.”, but at this point, I feel like this whole attitude needs to be brought into question. I don’t know and honestly don’t care if he’s against shipping or it’s these ships in generals or
what, but this indiscriminate removal of the tags feel like abusing the power of their position, and I believe this needs to stop.
