I guess the only reason to tag G4 would be for when G5 comes out and G5 specific art starts coming out en mass.

Basically this. Just tell the site to add the tag to anything not tagged to another gen already, and let the database churn for a “while”.

Should the generation tags be colored differently (like the ratings, characters, episodes, species, etc. tags) now?

I’d think because of when this site was made, the (G4) naming scheme wasn’t really necessary. I figure it’s not necessary to add g4 to the existing tags, and just add G5 where necessary for the next gen when it comes out, and so on for the ones after.
 
(The tagging suggestion box is gonna need a touch-up when it hits though)

I’m wondering if the no sound tag should have documentation to mention that it should only apply to WebM uploads, since I just removed the tag from 15 GIFs.  
on that note, maybe sound should imply webm since “sound edit” currently implies both (along with “animated” even though “webm” also does)

gigachad spike is a shit stupid tag that reeks of incels and a level of cringe that would shame the kid who fights with the power of God and anime on his side; can it be mercy-killed and aliased to buff spike?

I know the person who made the majority of those tag changes. Let me just state, for the record, you are probably more wrong than you’ve ever been in your assessment.
 
IMO it should be merged the other way. It’s not like the stupid breast pun tags, it’s a fun joke about Spike suddenly getting buff that also happens to make it easy to find these particular images.

I think it could co-exist with whatever overall tag gets made for spike but with le muscles. We’ve got beefspike for a lot of his beefcake appearances. gigachad spike is just for that particular episode. I think it’s funny.

Uploaders are starting to tag Grogar images with discord and disguise; is that a thing that should be encouraged or discouraged? It’s something that only happens in S09E24/25, so people who have spoiler:s09e24 and spoiler:s09e25 hidden or spoilered, but not spoiler:s09 or season 9, could have a pretty big bombshell go off in their faces.

Well that’s up to you guys in the end, isn’t it? After all, you’d want to change it for valid reasons and not because of some compulsion to screech virulent hate and insults about “chad” memes.
 
beefspike is a well-used tag with similar connotations. If it has to be aliased, that one would probably do, but I’d still personally argue for keeping it separate with an implication.

In regards to Li’l Cheese, do we tag the character as a colt or keep tagging them as a filly? According to Big Jim the character is a colt, which is leaving some people a bit confused on the matter.

And the eyelashes on him are what is confusing people, because eyelashes are usually on fillies, not colts.
