Remove bad implication: "portrait" → "bust"

portrait now implies bust. This is not a valid implication, so please can it be removed?
 
The implication is invalid if you accept the correct meaning of “portrait” (“a depiction expressing character, most often focused on the face”), because not all busts are portraits (and fwiw, not all portraits are busts).
 
Even if you accept the over-restrictive definition of “portrait” used by the site, (“[a]n image primarily of the face of a character, no lower than the upper shoulders (*)”), then the implication is still invalid. “[B]ust” is defined on the site as “[a]n image of the upper body of the character, no lower than the navel” (mostly correct). By the site’s own incorrect description, a portrait can never have anything below the shoulders visible in the frame, and this includes the area between shoulders and navel.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s silly that full body portraits and couple/group portraits aren’t “portrait” as defined here.

Me too ☺ Still, if the tag dictionary writers accept a woefully narrow view of the world for apparent objectivity, the implication engineers can expect to get called on dud logic later on.
 
It’s extra-silly when you consider this is a show about talking magical horses whose butt or tail can be expected to appear in portaits that are “no lower than the shoulders”, or withers, or whatever. And wings! Do wings count as “below”? Hang on, are we reckoning this along the pony’s body or along the plane of the canvas (and so on, yawn.)

To follow a slight tangent, in RL horse photography, bust shots usually include most of the (or entire) shoulder, and cut vertically at just below the breast. So depending on the angle, there might be quite a bit of back visible.

Y’all have just opened an enormous can of worms. Don’t expect this to be resolved quickly. Any solution that gets chosen is going to take a massive effort to fully realize.

Not really. The definitions for those tags are already there: portrait means head, busts means upper body, so really it’s just a case of inverting the implication, or removing it altogether.
 
Edit: also that implication is fine. As far as Derpi is concerned “portrait” means head and bust means “anything upper body”, as I said, portraits are busts in this definition.
