So, as I was adding tags to one picture I noticed something: it didn’t lack “nipples” tag but instead had “mipples” tag and even “mipple piercing”. So I thought what this must be a mistake, a typo made in hurry; after all n and m keys are right next to each other on qwerty keyboards and they look pretty similar so at a quick glance one could not notice what they made a mistake. And so, being a good autist about tags what I am I went to fix them on that image and others.
I fixed every image what had “mipple piercing”, which were 15 when I begin, and went to just ones with “mipples”, which numbered around 60. But as I was fixing them I looked at the tagging history of one of them and noticed something curious. The picture originally actually had “nipples” tag but a user deleted it and in it place put “mipples”. And it was not one time thing either. And as I looked into it I noticed the other thing: all pictures like that were solo male. So I might think what at least one user went and replaced the tag when they seen a picture with male in them showing nipples, for what I think is filtering purposes (the logic being, I feel, is “male” + “nipples” = “mipples”).
Given this I think some of mods should weight in to put a final verdict to the tag. Personally I think it’s redundant, as you can easily just add complex filter what spoilers pictures tagged “nipples” if they are solo male, plus deleting the “nipples” tag from such images is obviously wrong as they do in fact contain nipples, and people who are not averse to male nipples will miss them while searching for, well, nipples, especially male ones. So, even if the tag will be allowed I think it should be there alongside actual “nipples” tag.
Also, if the tag is to be deemed unnecessary there might be a benefit in aliasing “mipples” and “mipple piercing” into “nipples” and “nipple piercing” respectively anyway, since the cases when people just make a typo are less than zero.
Here’s link to both tags, if needed:
