Transgender Tagging

Continued from General.
 
Trans characters are often tagged as “futa” and “cuntboy” which really isn’t accurate, since those tags imply intersex. Personally I think these tags and the transgender tag should be mutually exclusive.
 
I suggest adding a note to these tags saying not to tag transgender characters with them. Also, for filtering purpose the “trans girl” and “trans boy” tags can be used - these tags could imply transgender and female/male respectively.
 
Feel free to make suggestions if you have any.

Female/male as in biological features, or gender expression? Would adult characters too be tagged with “trans girl/boy” if trans? And how would intersex and/or non-binary trans characters be handled?

Male/female as in identity is what I had in mind, but it’s up to the mods.
 
Yes - it isn’t referring to age, it’s just that those are very common terms for trans people.
 
Intersex characters can be tagged intersex and nonbinary characters as nonbinary.

Those sound like good ideas. As a preliminary proposal, I could see something like
 
trans boy -> trans, male  
trans girl -> trans, female
 
as working fine. In all honesty, I really think that transgender characters shouldn’t be tagged as “futa” or “cuntboy”. Besides being inaccurate, it’s… well, it’s highly uncomfortable at best, to say the least.

There are trans people perfectly comfortable with terms trap/futa/cuntboy (and frankly, there isn’t any visual difference between “trap” and “futa”, so tagging relies on author’s notes on that).  
Inaccuracy is the only concern I have, and solving it solves your issue too.

I’m not arguing that there’s an inherent issue with things like “trap” and “futa” existing – my issue is with people tagging pictures of transgender people with those tags. It should be obvious that transgender men or transgender women aren’t females with male genitalia, for instance. Using those tags to identify trans characters is at best a grossly inaccurate portrayal of what trans people are – and that’s before considering the issues of using what are for all intents and purposes concepts created for the purpose of sexual fantasies to describe real-life identities.
 
Also, as other people pointed out, “trap” and “futa” are… quite different.

On topic - Another issue resides in the “male to female” and vice versa tags since they’ve been used a lot recently. These tags imply rule 63 - either the implication needs to be removed or trans characters should not be tagged with them.

Don’t you think you’re still tagging it too fast when all the kinks have yet to be worked out?

I’m just tagging the trans girl and trans boy tags, which already existed. (At least trans girl did, I’m not sure of the other)

One is a female body with a dick instead of vagina, other is female body with a dick instead of vagina. The difference is non-visual, that is, gender; and that’s the point of the “trap” term: someone you can confuse for female.

No, traps don’t have a “female body”. They have an androgynous but fully male physiology, and a pretty face; enough to be mistaken for a girl. They don’t have breasts (or, beyond how a pudgy adolescent’s chest might look sort of like a very small set of breasts). That’s very different from a “female body”.
 
Futa on the other hand are pm the exact same as any other exaggerated depiction of a female body, except they have dicks, usually in addition to a vulva. Sometimes the dick is actually a huge clitoris, sometimes there are balls, etc.

That’s “androgynous” and “femboy”.
 
P.S. I don’t get the point of tagging obviously fully transitioned trans characters “transsexual”, btw. Isn’t the whole point to be indistinguishable from someone born as the intended sex, and thusly be tagged as intended sex?

Androgynoys is a supercategory including other types as well, and femboy is a synonym for trap that mostly exists because of people’s sensitivities.
 
And the latter is also done because of people’s sensitivities. First, there is no such thing as “fully transitioned”. Especially for trans women who went through male puberty, some features will always be telling for a discerning eye. Secondly, just because someone has done a transition up to the degree they feel comfortable and contented with, doesn’t mean that they stop being or having issues with being transgender, which in an imagebooru context means that the themes and topics of works featuring transgender character are as capable of having transgender themes and topics whether or not the character has transitioned or not.
 
And of course there are viewers who just don’t want to spot something like an adam’s apple while fapping to a picture.

Especially since that one ep with Alicorn’s Amulet confirms that complete sex change is extremely difficult, but possible - if it was impossible and unbelievable, the trick Twi used would fail.

since nobody seems to disagree, i’m going to suggest the following
 
trans girl -> transgender, female  
trans boy -> transgender, male
 
and that the futa, cuntboy and dickgirl tags get a description edit along the lines of: “This tag implies intersex and should not be tagged on images of transgender characters.”
 
any objections?

I like this idea. The only thing is that “girl” and “boy” are human terms and may be an odd tag to apply to older characters. I’d go with the broader “trans male/female” instead.
