All I’ve done so far is take the existing filly base, slightly enlarge it, move it down a little and delete most of the head. That’s it so far. I need to load both versions at one to see if they line up, but I’m not entirely sure how to do that…
 
EDIT: Also, I have an idea for Hired Gun’s outfit, it’s either >>322822, or what the human version in >>425240 is wearing. I’m leaning towards the latter.
 
Also, I figure Hired Gun would be the taller of the two, but Icepick is probably bigger overall.

Another attempt at the suit model, I started over this time:  
 
It kind of sucks still, though I at least had a reference to use (as you can see), I had to sculpt the legs a bit but I noticed that makes it look a bit baggy and rugged like a suit might be. Do you think it should be smoother?

Finally made it to the next chapter. Now I’m starting to question if this Puppysmiles is the same one who died…
 
EDIT: Also, now I know who you’re talking about. No, Sassy’s implants don’t make her much shorter, more they stop her body from collapsing under its own massive size. Stronger bones and a cybernetic heart, she also gets a wing

I’d would think she was just made up of pink cloud after the megaspells hit and that she was connected to the suit (of course pink cloud fuses clothing that the wearer is wearing to them).

Which then brings back the question of why she’s different from the other ghosts. Did her suit malfunction at some point? It seemed to have trouble starting up. Maybe she has some genetic disorder? I can think of a couple…
 
EDIT: Chapter 13 spills the beans: The backup talisman loaded and it was programmed to refuse to allow her to die but that doesn’t explain the 200 year stasis, maybe we’ll learn more later?
 
EDIT2: Finished it, binged but kind of skipped most of the afterword. Nothing more revealed, which is a shame. Made a new shelf for it though

I wonder, rereading the intro: Would Puppy have survived if she hadn’t run home to check herself out? There were a ton of foals besides Puppy… It appears the stable failed, right?

not sure if you read the story yet when you made this post. “pink eyes” does explain why puppysmiles is different from other ghosts, well… sorta. but this is how I understood from what the steel rangers said about her, while she was blithely ignoring them:
 
the suit had a secondary healing talisman that would activate if the life support system crashed. in the other suits, they had no malfunctions, so the foals inside died, without the system crashing. puppysmiles’s suit randomly crashed at just the right moment, that it had the secondary healing talisman activated when the pink cloud reached her. the steel rangers said the secondary healing talisman used necromantic magic, so the radiation from pink cloud only strengthened it. set up a kind of positive feedback loop, so the more she died, the more she was healed and… that’s one reason necromantic magic is kinda forbidden.
 
that’s just what I remember reading. there still are a bunch of holes in that explanation, like why wasn’t the talisman that actually worked set as primary, why does puppysmiles come back to life after the suit is destroyed, why didn’t the talisman heal her back to a normal filly, etc…

I hadn’t read it at that time, but I finished last week. For the not healing her back to a regular filly, maybe there wasn’t enough of the right materials. In the N-Team universe, pink cloud is a compound of Craylon (a resource in Star Trek Online) and Phazon (No, seriously). These are magicites, meaning they have thaumatotrons instead of neutrons (made of one up quark and two thaumatobosons instead of one up quark and two down quarks), and make up magical versions of the regular periodic elements (except hydrogen which has no neutrons). Phazon is the magicite version of phosphorus, and craylon of argon. Also, phazon is one of the seven biological magicites, along with alicornite (counterpart to carbon), tiberium (counterpart to copper), vespene (counterpart to nitrogen), aegisalt (counterpart to oxygen), violium (counterpart to silver), and ferozium (counterpart to antimony). Back on the subject, there probably wasn’t enough organic matter to rebuild her. Or maybe it’s just the way the talisman works. It’s a necromancy talisman, after all.
 
My previous suspect was her heart, possibly being born with Tetralogy of Fallot and Ectopia Cordis, and requiring a pacemaker, in other words, she was probably gonna end up being one of those sickly children, though if she made it to the teen age Pantzer drew her as at one point she would’ve lived just fine except for being a bit slow on the mental side barring unforeseen complications or pacemaker failure.
 
For the regeneration, she’s a ghost. Just try killing a ghost. Play 5-1 in Super Mario 64 and get back to me on that.
 
As for why it was a backup, maybe they knew it wouldn’t really revive the foals…
 
I wonder how things would have turned out if Puppy hadn’t run off. The same? Different? Would she have even reached a stable and lived a full life?
 
Still doesn’t explain the 200 year stasis though…
 
Going back to that first spoiler, I’ll drop a book 5 spoiler from The N-Team here: Puppysmiles is a Century Child (the name will change, I just haven’t come up with anything better. Any ideas?), and so she has this thing called an N-Form, which is basically a force ghost… Then there’s Yuyuko and Minamitsu… And by beating up Lisa’s daughter? She shows the psychotic teen exactly how she felt in death (“Now imagine that, a hundred times as painful and a thousand times as nauseating, for ten hours straight. Not fun, right?”) after said teen tries pulling a stupidly dangerous prank on her. I’ll spare the details though. …That’ll probably be how Book 9 starts, actually…

In another AU, the stable survived… Because the N-Verse’s imported Puppysmiles intervened. She’s the one who goes through all the canon motions, dies in the afterlife, and joins the N-Team; she also helped the actual N-Verse version of Rainy Days give birth to her counterpart. Ponies in the N-Verse are ƥoni, which are humans that look like anthros, and the ponies in the “saved” universe are poners, which are 12-foot anthros. So pony Puppysmiles would be like a plushie next to her poner counterpart.
 
Still wondering if Mime was talking about Stable 3 or not. Might ask him sometime…

dunno if it fits or not but had idea where M6 and spike are accidently sent into the Boston Commonwealth.  
the girls are turned anthro, and spike changes a bit to a teenage-y form. (taller, loss of pudge, grows wings)  
and they run into the Sole Survivor and Presto’s group in Sanctuary.  
(plot wise shortly after When Freedom Calls/Sanctuary and part of First Step)
