Okay, I changed it from “Tenebra” to “Tenebris”, which is Latin, and I’m now working on a full-body version of her.

I updated the dA image to make her hair longer. It’s not supposed to be too much longer than King Sombra’s, but I think it works well enough.

Eh, I dunno. I did think that, but sombra is not just a variation of somber. I picked Queen Dismal at first because dismal and somber are synonyms, but Sombra is a Spanish word meaning shadow. I wanted to pick something similar to that, and since tenebra is A) not English and B) means darkness(which is similar to shadow), I chose that. Disma is just a variation of dismal, so it doesn’t quite work the same.

I’ve thought of a potential name for her. How does “Queen Tenebra” sound? Tenebra is Italian for “darkness,” and it’s the plural form of the Latin “tenebrae,” which also means darkness. I tried finding a good word in spanish like sombra, but I couldn’t really find one that didn’t sound weird. The best one was “oscura,” which means “dark,” but “Queen Oscura” is really weird to me.

Also, now that we know his name is King Sombra and not King Somber, I have to think of a new name for the Queen. God dammit…

Holy crap, so much love. Thank you all so much! Yeah, I thought he looked pretty bad at first, but he’s grown on me. I’d like some feedback on stuff too, like how I did on the genderbending, the name, etc. I think it’d be pretty cool if Queen Dismal became the widely accepted name, but if not, oh well. Thanks again for all the comments! :D
