Guys… the Legion of Doom were written to be irredeemable villains who literally used friendship against ponydom and hated the idea of using it. Not every character has to be redeemed.

Tirek, Cozy and Chrysalis were the only villain in the show to have an arc about learning to cooperate, by the end of which they were friends in all but name. Any competent writer would have allowed them to be redeemed.

Discord faced the consequences of his actions when his deceptions got revealed and he lost his magic again. To say nothing of facing down the ponies he betrayed (again).

Discord endangered countless people by plotting multiple attacks against Equestria and got off with a slap on the wrist. Tirek, Cozy and Chrysalis were forced to participate in his evil plans and were petrified indefinitely. These things are not the same.
