Um, yeah, I said I didn’t think Trixie was evil; I just see the end of “Magic Duel” as showing her progressing from being a self-centered jerk to being less of a self-centered jerk, rather than converting instantly to a decent, caring pony. If she makes another appearance, I guess we’ll see if that’s right or not.

I’m pretty sure her boast at the end was her joking around. She had no reason to pull off the fireworks show or ask Twilight for forgiveness, she could have just legged it before then.

Trixie was a self-centered, arrogant jerk before being corrupted, and after apologizing bragged about her humility. Not that I think she’s evil or that she’s not making progress, but I’d say there’s room to wonder just how reformed Trixie is.

Really, I’m just asking for her redemption arc to be a little more fleshed out. I’m not saying go all Zuko on her, but at least make the turn convincing. People are thinking she’s just putting on an act for Christ’s sake!

And like my theory implies, when you’ve acted like a bitch towards people for years, they tend be a lot less likely to accept you.
 
Magic of friendship or not, the mane 5 know how horrible shimmer was a lot better than Twilight; they had first hand experience. They’re only human, so them keeping a grudge doesn’t seem too far out of question.
 
…Alternatively, the mane 5 were the only people willing to even give shimmer the time of day, but her desire for acceptance from everyone told her that five people simply wasn’t worth the scornful looks she got from the rest of the student body plus the faculty.
