Here’s one of his older ones.
I’d say he has noticeably improved over the years, particularly with the coloring.
Regardless, I think he’s amazing at what he does. ^^
@Darkest Lunar Flower
Aye exactly. That’s the best thing about artist all over; creativity and style that is unique to them. I love looking at how each artist has their own approach on how they draw/animate their work. I cringed reading that entire comment, but in the end, it’s just another opinion that won’t really affect the artist unless hordes of people bombarded him with the same thing. Personally, there’s nothing wrong with any of this guys work.
@Minus
Well why don’t you go and complain to them of why I shouldn’t be featured instead of telling everyone that how crappy my drawing is. There is a lot more people out there with different talents and it’ll be boring if everyone draws the same style. I’m glad I’m different and I’m glad people still loves for what I do. It’s my style, you like it or not why don’t you just go and pick on someone else for your own good instead of wasting your time spreading negativity? Oh wait, that’s your title isn’t it?
Let me tell you something, I’ve did try something different, I did do digital, and it didn’t work out for me. I rather stick to traditional. It’s more like my style.
@Minus
It is quite the frequent excuse but in this case it fully applies.
It is his art style, and it doesn’t have to appeal to you.
I can’t find any anatomical mistakes, or uncanny features. He’s reached the point where he’s decided this is how he wishes them too look.
If you asked another experienced artist to draw this with the same materials. It would likely turn out different, a different style. That wouldn’t make it any better or worse, it would just simply be a different look.
Their skill is great, and you think not. Perhaps what you find off putting is simply the fact that it’s not your look, and that’s okay. This work though, is clearly the effort of someone who knows what they are doing.
@Minus
There is only one thing I can agree with you on. The mouths.
General tip for everyone sticking with “show’s art style” the inside of the mouth should folow should be drawn just like the side that we see from outside.
It’s hard to explain, but the “lines” that create mouth should parallel to eachother, and generally should follow the same shape.
In this picture, the part “closer to the viewer” is curved in the opposite direction to the one on the “inside” of the mouth.
Damn, It’s really hard to explain. It’s better to just look at screencaps of the show and see how they are done there.
I hope this helped anyone tough.
@fastbreak333
Role play in the comments is so annoying. I always have this one individual who’s some sort of nightmare moon/ Luna follower that comments on all my Luna images where she is being nice to celestia or doing something kind. They are like,”celestia is the enemy, nightmare moon forever!”, or something like that.
