As someone who grew up in that life, I would vasty call you flat out wrong. I can’t stand Rainbow Dash, but I would trade my parents for her in a second.
 
I missed out on a lot of things because I had no parents to guide me. Scootaloo is lucky that she has others to help her. It was just her parents, she would end just like I was oncce. I was a spoiled brat and a criminal. I had to pull myself out of shit, I had do the job my parents should have done a long time ago.
 
Scootaloo’s parents are shit, I know that because I have those parents. Selfish and care nothing for the child.

I’ve never seen those movies so I can’t comment, and I can disagree that a parents life becomes all about the their child. Don’t get me wrong it becomes a a very big parent of it, but I would argue that’s it’s really unhealthy for a parents life becomes solely about the child.
 
And their are plenty of real world parents who work away from their children. It doesn’t make them bad parents. The main problem with Scoot’s parents is that they seem to force Scootaloo’s to move without talking to her about it, which they’ve done to try improved their relationship.
 
Scootaloo’s parents aren’t bad people, they just haven’t had the chance to become proper parents. Because their too busy with a very important job.

Yes they can, it called being a parent. What a lot of people don’t realize nowadays is once that baby pops out your life is done. Their life will always be far more important than your so you either you give them up or you try your damn hardest to be the best parents there is, there is no middle ground.
 
A good parent would drop that job like a freaken hot cake or never abandoned her at all, taking her with them the moment they left the first time. A lot of people compare Scootaloo’s parents to Dundee or Crodile Hunter when both of those characters were shown to be fine better parents then Scootaloo’s parents ever could have been. Dundee was shown in third movie that he gave up his wild life the moment the child was born and only chose to go back in when his child was ready and every time his child stood beside him. Meanwhile, the Crocodile Hunter raised two children into the very life style he was already having.
 
The very idea that a parent needs to give up a child for a job is totally stupid.

It’s implied several times they themselves down really have a chose either, perhaps though either contract or they feel likes it’s their duty for the betterment of equestria

I wouldn’t say that, I mean the whole reason they let Scootaloo stay is cos ponyvile convinces them how important Scootaloo’s role in the town is.  
It’s implied several times in the episode that they’re job is too important to let go, but they’ve managed find something much closer and safer.  
I’m sure if they had jobs that they could simple just drop, I’m sure they would. But they’re scientists and researchers, it’s not exactly a job they can quit at the drop of a hat.
 
If they were as selfish or monsterous as you say they would have done much worse to Scootaloo they just being too busy to be around

Like actual parents would. Thank you so much. Finally, someone else sees the biggest problem with Scootaloo’s parents. They are completely selfish. The worst parents are always selfish ones. Those kinds lead to spoiled brats or hardened crimals. Luckily Scootaloo has Rainbow Dash, Dash’s parents and even her aunts to keep on the right track. If it was just her parents and this was the real world she would certainly grow up be a monster.

Yeah, Scootaloo made the same comparison between her parents and Rainbow’s in Parental Glideance.
 
They could theoretically become good parents, but it would involve putting Scootaloo’s interests above their own and actually being around to get to know her better. At the end of the episode they had a choice between moving to Shire Lanka and continuing to do what they’ve been doing, or dropping their own personal pursuits for the sake of their daughter, once they realized they couldn’t have both. And unfortunately, they chose Shire Lanka.

Plus, this is better since Rainbow Dash’s parents are the best parents in the show and it would finally make it legal that Scootaloo is Rainbow Dash’s sister. No specialty shit or honorary sibling, plain legal sisters.

It also just occurred to me that rainbow and scoot’s have opposite parents. Rainbow’s never left her alone and was always supporting while scoot’s were never around.

I’m fine with the lesbians but everything else was shit. I’ll give it this much, it wasn’t boring like every other Scootaloo episode, but it was still shit.

No, I agree, and I appreciate them being the bigger ponies and letting Scootaloo stay in Ponyville in the end. But just because it’s realistic doesn’t mean they were in the right; I feel like they lost their opportunity to be good parents to Scootaloo when they left her behind for so long.

Scootaloo has so many parents.

The four of them in an episode together would’ve been fantastic

I like “The Last Crusade” the way it is. But I think there was a missed opportunity for Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles to appear in voiceless cameos in the end alongside the other ponies that the CMCs have helped. Scootaloo did play a role in getting Rainbow Dash to reconcile with her parents in Season Seven’s “Parental Glideance” and they did appear as members of Scootaloo’s fan club in Season Eight’s “The Washouts”.

I feel like in the minory of liking Scootaloo’s parents. They left very real for me, and that’s coz by the looks of it they’ve never really had the chance to become real parents with how important their jobs are.  
And when they come back they don’t realise how important Scootaloo is to the town. Scoots doesn’t even tell them how it makes her feel until after she’s tried all those stunts, and then she just runs away from it.  
For me the episode was a great example of a couple wanting to be good parents but not really having the knowledge or understanding to be, but in the end they do see why moving Scootaloo would effect more then just their family. It effects all of equestria.
 
Having parents force you to movie is something that happens in real life all the time. We just think it’s bad because not only have we been watching her for 9 years now but also that we’re seeing these events play out from her point of view. So we sympathise with her more

Okay, this ending makes the episode somehow not a pile of shit. Good work. Not to dis the aunts as they were the only grace in the episode but Dash’s parents are a far better choice than any other pair in the show. Period.
