Becoming an alicorn does NOT make you immortal leading to the assumption that it comes with great longevity or the princesses are natural born alicorns and that’s somehow different
1a. This also means that Twilight can still be killed like anypony else. Just that she’s got a castle and a few guards to protect her
Twilight Purple goes back to being a unicorn but dies before the rest of her friends somehow
M A Larson takes over the show and redoes the season 4 into to make the rest of the mane 6 alicorns. The remainder of the series is about everypony else transcending with 20 musical numbers per episode. MINIMUM.

Meghan denied any personal knowledge of Equestria girls though, even though she is the lead writer.
Sooner or later bronies need to learn that they aren’t going to get a straight answer about future spoilers and unannounced projects from people who are under an NDA.
@bboifatz
Seriously? I don’t think any of those 3 things are going to happen. (#1 might happen at the end of the series, but 6 princesses might be overkill.)
Also, I don’t see what difference it is having Twilight as a unicorn, or alicorn honestly.
Would be most likely since it’s most beneficial to Hasbro from business standpoint. Remember, it’s easier to sell toys of six pony princesses than of one princess and five characters with realistic struggles and aspirations. After all, what slogan sounds better on a toy package, “Rainbow Dash has always pushed herself to the limit in hopes of one day fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a Wonderbolt”, or “Princess Rainbow Dash wears a beautiful dress and she loves her tiara”?
@bboifatz
It’s probably going to be option 1. Season 4 is probably going to be the grand finale for the series. They’re going to end the series with all of them being princesses.
@bboifatz
Or they may cut the story off with a cliff hanger when the show ends and leave the rest for fan interpretation. Many novel and film writers do that.
Why are people worrying about what will happen in the future? People die. It’s a certainty, but it’s what you do before then that makes life worth it. And it’s up to you, I and all of us to make the most of it.
Besides, Season 4 is going to continue on from that thread for at least the first few episodes, and even then we have the monthly IDW comics, and whatever this crazy fandom has to pump out (for better or worse), and there are other shows as well, such as TFprime or Nick’s TMNT, or Legend of Korra, or heck, just go outside.
I think the problem lies in FIM’s lack of continuity, and the lack of buildup that other shows like the one above have. Ultimately, the show is a slice of life, fantasy comedey series that teaches about friendship and is mostly there to provide a good chuckle or two. The fandom… that’s another story.
There are better things to do than just complain and argue about something that’s been resolved/set in stone months ago, and everyone else is going to accept anyway.
I personally think they’ll take this the easy way and avoid the death topic altogether, just ending in a ‘happily ever after’ fashion, not going far into the future whatsoever.
