Oh and funny thing about the trope name, “Kirk” in the name was from how another trope(what Twi’s friendship speeches fall under) has “Kirk” in it’s name but “Shut Up, Kirk!” was never used on Captain Kirk.

Oh no. No no no. Just a vaguely similar reaction that I drew parallels too because it reminded me of Kefka and I have very small reference pools. Like, those tiny inflatable ones. That small.
 
Oh, but how I wish we could have a villain that was the pony equivalent of Kefka. Discord comes close but it’s not entirely the same thing.

In a sense. Before the final battle the party gives the usual “friendship and love” speech. Kefka’s reaction is something similar to here. There are probably similar examples across fiction but being a Kefka fan I like this one best.

Best part of the episode. Helps that I really like the idea of someone pulling a Kefka on them.

Well, I guess it’s agree to disagree. After reading your analysis I can’t find much common ground, and I suppose you feel the same.
 
As someone who enjoyed Twilight’s development and growth into her new role in the last few seasons I would hate for the show to suddently degrade all that and take her character in a completely different direction. And I don’t see any solid evidence that this could happen.
 
But I can at least respect your perspective, so this is where I leave. Thanks.

Eh, I know I’m rather… extreme when it comes to avoiding anything vaguely spoiler-y for something I’ve already decided to watch, and it’d be unfair of me to ask others to change their habits for my sake. I feel the same, but it’s pretty apparent that we look at it quite differently.
 
That’s why I liken it to a career, it’s definitely integral and something to care for, not going to argue that.
 
Warning them about Discord turning traitor may have put them in more danger, they might have tried attacking him and Tirek after learning of it and things may not have turned out so pretty… that’s why the request was made.
 
Now we’re getting into another area entirely, I already had a massive discussion about this with Pon a while back.

I highly doubt that. If anything, it’ll be her disliking the castle, her friends doing rediculous, unnecessary and completely unhelpful things to try and cheer her up and embrace her new home and Twilight monologuing to herself whereupon she realizes that she can learn to accept her new place. Twilight doesn’t do crazy anymore, everyone around her does.

Although, it was only a synopsis, could have been a lot worse, and I’m a guy that doesn’t particularly like spoilers either, but a synopsis isn’t that bad.

I didn’t intentionally brush over what you said. Being a princess doesn’t control every intricate aspect of her life, but the reason for being a princess, being Celestia’s perfect student, DOES partially control every aspect of her life.
 
Sure, she has a few wants and needs of her own, but they are brushed aside whenever Celestia’s word comes into play. Even warning the others about “traitor” Discord didn’t cross her mind.
 
As for character analysis, if it wasn’t for the scenes in Equestria Games, Trade Ya!, and especially Rainbow Rocks, I would conclude that despite the absurdity of the show’s message against choice, they were going to go with Twilight being a princess for good with her never even questioning it at all. I don’t trust my character analysis alone enough to make proper predictions for the future, so the some actual events in the show are what I help base it on.

Well, she’s growing up, some of you guys argue that characters don’t learn from their lessons and develop, but when one does in some regards, it’s a problem?
 
“Part of Twilight’s charm was watching the know-it-all who found out she didn’t know it all”, but she is still like that in some ways, she isn’t portrayed as being omnipotent.
 
I wouldn’t speak too soon anyway, judging from some screenshots we’ve seen, it looks like crazy Twilight may have a return in the next episode possibly, having some trouble adjusting to the castle judging from the synopsis.
 
Life is large and the MLP Universe is pretty expansive, there’s plenty of places mentally and physically they can take her and her friends in the future, especially with the recent introduction of this map, I can’t wait to see what happens later on with it.

Between the castle and Celestia’s leading-on question, I wouldn’t call it destiny OR passion. Why do you think a ton of fans laughed when Twilight said it was “a role she chose for herself”?
 
Never choosing to be an alicorn or a princess to begin with? Twilight was given a small role as a princess at the beginning of that episode to make her want the opposite? Celestia building up her future role at the beginning, then popping her the question once she got a castle and felt more important then ever?

All Twilight saw in Twilight’s Kingdom was exactly what Celestia wanted her to see. Nothing more. How is that any different then how Twilight hasn’t lived, for herself, since the beginning?…that is, until reformed Sunset talked to her in the kitchen scene and the scene where Sunset shows her how unimportant the title means. It wasn’t just about not relying on others, it was about not deluding yourself into thinking friendship is any single person’s mission. A moral S5 Twilight is still struggling with, but as it showed in late S4, her doubts are starting to grow.

You carefully brushed over most of what I said there though previously, and I’m not going to repeat myself.
 
Like I said, liken it to a career, it’s a huge part of who she is for sure, but doesn’t define every little intricacy of her character.
 
I haven’t read the comics in question, so I have no context for the quotes you gave so I can’t try to refute or agree with anything you’re talking about there, but there’s no way to tell how it’s going to turn out in the long run without actually watching what happens down the road, judging from the actual content of the show, she doesn’t seem to be in utter distress over it, just saying, trying the dissect the internal psyche of the character the way you are probably isn’t going to get you any results, not the ones you want anyway I imagine.
 
Celestia was never as close to the other 5 as she was Twilight.
