You mean the one with the insignia switching? Yeah, I have that one. My only peeve is that in the show he was pretty big, y’know? That one is only slightly taller than Generations Rattrap.
I actually use “By the Pit!” or “By the Inferno!” interchangeably, myself.
I remember the 10th Anniversary figures, but I was thinking more along the line of brand new or updated designs, like the ones Rattrap and Rhinox got as part of the Thrilling 30 line. I also have an Optimus Primal and Megatron from Transformers United which are definitely updates, but I’d love to get a new Dinobot, Tarantulas and Black Arachnia.
They had one for the 10th Anniversary where they released “more show-accurate” redecos of some of the classic toys (I put that in quotes because most of them were actually LESS show-accurate), and Shout Factory’s DVD releases were billed as a “15th Anniversary Edition” despite sorely lacking in special features; they just had a couple featurettes and, if you bought the Complete Series box set release which was just the same season volumes (one for the first season, and a single volume for both seasons 2 and 3 like Rhino’s DVD release) put in a box together, the “Dawn of Future’s Past” comic that was released at Botcon 2006 (or 2007, I forget which, but it was more likely 2006) that served as a prequel for the series (and very, very awkwardly never referred to any of the Maximals or Predacons other than Optimus and Megatron by their names, since they had that whole “renaming based off of the alt-modes” thing in the original series).
Still, a lot of Beast Wars characters have gotten brand new toys lately and appeared in very different forms in the current ongoing IDW comic (particularly interesting given that their earlier Beast Wars comics were set in the continuity of the original cartoon, but had focus on characters that were previously toy-only characters).
Among Transformers fans, there are still people who refuse to acknowledge the Beast Wars/ Beast Machines Megatron, referring to him as ‘the Pretender’. And that was from, what 10+ years ago?
I myself loved Beast Wars but hated Beast Machines because of how much the characters seemed to have changed, but I at least was able to go, “Yeah, okay, they’re in a completely different situation now, so they’d have to adapt to survive.”

“Monstronsity.”
Fame, power and responsibility change people, we all know that. Maybe that’s the message the show staff are ultimately trying to get at. I wouldn’t mind if by the end of season 10 Twilight is an evil dictator and the rest of the mane six have to banish her to the moon, then the show just ends there. I wouldn’t mind that at all.
Oh, yes. G1 didn’t have it so bad, it was mostly just additional dialogue here and there. But Beast Wars… the douche thought it needed an injection of comedy. I could forgive that, since there were quite a lot of funny bits in Beast Wars, but a) the humour was terrible (as in everybody had to have a speech quirk) and b) they just wouldn’t shut up!
And now, imagine something as dark as Beast Machines (for the record, I hated Beast Machines because Optimus Primal reminded me waaaaaay too much of a religious fundamentalist towards the end). Imagine Silverbolt saying, “Quack” with every beat of his wings as he flies, or every single character speaking with the speed and excitement of Pinkie Pie.
It was thankfully more restrained in Transformers Prime, and to my indescribable joy is almost not existent in the Japanese RID dub. In fact, so far I think the RID dub has been pretty much faithful to the original.
@WM-R
Didn’t pretty much every other American/Canadian Transformers show get the same treatment from the same guy/team? I haven’t experienced it myself, but I have heard tell, and I’m glad to not have to experience it firsthand.
