Not sure actually. I did try to imagine what my OC (or rather, my genderbend R63 OC) would look like as an EqG human but I haven’t uploaded it yet (it kinda sucks and I used a base). I’m not sure what to do with Starless right now. Rewrite him again (and how?)? Forget that and just ship him with whoever? Forget my OC entirely? I might not draw anything at all honestly.

I made the mistake of having multiple pony waifus and changing them, and none of that matters. The fandom will disappear eventually, this site and this thread won’t last forever, and one day I won’t have anything to cope with not having a real wife, and when that happens, good. But it’s all just for fun and I might as well enjoy it while it la–actually it’s been over 3 1/2 years since I started uploading and I’ve fucked up too many times. No matter what I’ll never be satisfied with anything.
If I start uploading again, it’ll probably be the last time I start again.

You got to see the big picture of what you can do and what not must do from this point. You have created these specials galore to yourself in a time you felt like an achievement and joy, why are stopping?
Don’t consider it, and even if you take a time to finish something, it’s best to not rush something on the work and give it a lot to think about.

I don’t know if your hesitation to draw comes from a high quality bar you set for yourself,out of shame for shipping Starless with multiple mares or seeing no value or meaning in doing it. The important thing is that you find enjoyment in the things you do, even if it’s just a little. If you don’t get that in general while drawing or writing than it’s okay if you don’t want to do it.

If you do enjoy doing it but feel constrained by the things I mentioned than the only things I can say are that it’s good to have a quality standard for yourself. being critical on your work will improve the quality of every next piece you make but not everything you make necessarily has to be a masterpiece. On this site there is basically no entry bar in terms of quality or depth, anything goes.
If it’s because of the shipping, it’s quite interesting if your OC can hook up with multiple quality mares. Nobody finds their soul mate instantly irl but mostly have to go through many mistakes, multiple relationships or nobody at all so it won’t really hurt if that would also be present in the MLP universe. It’s a mental playground that allows any way of thinking. Make a villain with a tragic or silly backstory, make an OC who is raised by timberwolves, make an OC who wants to rid Equestria of bubblegum and starts a war because of it or an OC who has so much game that he gets all the mares but changes relationships by the month and feels conflicted about it, anything goes!
If it’s about seeing no meaning in drawing the things you want to draw because the fandom and everything around it will die out eventually wherever for better or for worse I share your view but maybe experience it differently. I don’t do/make/learn things in life with the underlying thought that it will be preserved somehow but am aware that the skills I learn will be forgotten, the things I draw lost and the data I saved corrupted. It’s only a matter of time. Therefore I do all these things to enjoy it here and now while I can and don’t feel worried if it would be controversial or bad. I feel free to do whatever I want because no matter how I fill in my time now not a soul will remember that over a hundred years.
So in conclusion I’m not saying that you have to do ‘‘this’’ or ‘‘that’’ but just want to share my view on the topics that may negatively influence your creative way of thinking. If you enjoy drawing or writing then I hope this helps a bit. I you feel comfortable to keep your work only to yourself that’s okay, having a creative output is always a good thing imo even if it’s questionable or dark. If you want to stop doing it altogether that’s also okay.

No I should be harsh on myself. It helps keep me from going completely insane and a harsh truth is better than a supportive lie. I don’t need to lie to myself that I’m not a bad person because I am (if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t have made Starless or any of my OCs to be a villain).

It’s both, but the best art I’ve uploaded on Derpibooru is about as good as it will ever get, and if/when I do start uploading, I might not even try to make my art as high quality but instead get it done quickly so I can draw more complex art without taking a week or two to finish it.
As for shipping Starless with multiple mares, it’s not good to “cheat” on your waifus instead of being loyal to them because it just shows how awful of a wife/husband you’d be in real life. Sure I can just headcanon all my waifus as polygamous, but polygamy isn’t something I’d want to do in real life.

Thinking about it, Starless shouldn’t be able to hook up with any mare (a lot of the time, he’d keep himself from doing it) and definitely not Coloratura. Speaking of Coloratura, she’s an amazing pony, but I’m not in love with her like I was.

Starless isn’t meant to be tragic. He’s the kind of villain who brought most of his misery onto himself and went too far down the wrong path. He thinks he’s beyond help and will reject friendship because of that and the fact he hates himself so much he wants himself to suffer. This new backstory fanfic, if I ever write it, will be completely different from the original (for one, he won’t be part of Starlight’s village, which was only done because of their similar names). I had him join a gang because I couldn’t see Starless doing anything on his own, and I made another OC to lead that gang because Starless is no leader. He needs friends, knows his friends are bad, but still helps him because they’re his only friends left.

The truth is nothing in life is permanent, and if death means ceasing to exist, nobody will remember anything anymore. Not only will you forget everything, lose all your memories and knowledge, but you’ll forget having forgotten everything, as if you never knew anything or existed to begin with. It’s not much different from pre-life before you were born.

I guess I can see a bit through your oc is the reflection of you irl, like, in some point of venting about yourself, so, if that’s the case, why bother feeling bad about Starless being a total jerk if it’s his thing to do, like his rol of being what and who it is?

I did spend a lot of time with my art, but mainly because I’m just a slow artist instead of putting a lot of effort into each drawing. Some of my art took several days to finish. This one took at least 3 days, so did this image. I think this took 4 or 5 days.
Now that is something that I can agree totally, it’s fine to be aware of what we do negatively or positively.

Starless isn’t as hopeless as I am irl, and deep down, he’s a pony desperate for friendship and a love interest but refuses to let himself have that for multiple reasons. He’s like a combination of Princess Luna (he even looks like her color-wise, though that was unintentional, sort of), Tempest Shadow, and Moondancer. I imagine he’s kind of like Twilight too, but a darker, worse version of her.
But I have thought of something I can draw. Starless finally comes to his senses, possibly with Twilight, Starlight, and/or Sunset’s help, and apologizes to the ponies he’s cheated on or harmed, mainly Coloratura, Octavia, and Twilight. I might ship Starless and Coloratura again (the reason I created Starless) but they’ll probably just be friends from now on. I think Sunset Shimmer or Twilight would be a better partner for Starless.
