From what i can gather from the stuff posted here, no.
 
AJ was tasked with going to Zecora’s homeland, and she decided to automatically bring her along anyway without stopping to ask if she wanted to come.

I’m confused, did Zecora originally agree to to go on a potentially long and perilous journey without even knowing what the destination was?

Yeah, but still, considering AJ’s Mom is dead, and Zecora is already aware of that, makes that’s kinda unnecessary. Zecora apparently never told AJ or any of the Manes about her home land, nor made it out to be a touchy subject before. So AJ is not entirely alone in being “in the wrong” here for her wrong assumption. So AJ being kinda villainized here in-canon for a mistake is annoying.
 
I mean, what is it about Zecora’s home country that urks her so much that it is as comparable as a dead parent?  
That’d be like comparing somebody moving away from their old bad neighborhood, and getting angry at a friend for bringing it up, and being like, “It’d be like if I said something about your dead Mom.”

Using an example to help someone know how you’re feeling is a basic technique. It’s used constantly in writing and storytelling since it helps communicate what you’re trying to explain. It’d be stupid to not use an example to help someone understand something.

I fail to see how Zecora is in the wrong for mentioning AJ’s mom in the first place. It explains how Zecora is feeling, but I guess if you want to get offended for Applejack, who was not offended at all, then you do that.

She could have just asked how AJ would have felt if she did the same thing she didn’t need to actually give an example

There is one panel between this image and the one on this page. In it, Applejack says “That’s the last time I try to be nice to -” before being cut off by Zecora screaming her name.

I do get indication that her rhyming is for fun. I can Only think of one scene Where she was rhyming when Angry That was in season 5

One thing I will defend is, I’m not bothered by Zecora not ryming, which does help show how upset she is. (Still feel her anger is a li’l exaggerated & such though.)  
And the gag has been done many times with other ryming characters.  

 
Also, as Masem posted the comic even lampshades Zecora not ryming the next panel. Like the show, the comic is at least self aware that “OOC is serious business.” (Which isn’t an uncommon trope in modern cartoons.

If you’re going to pull that “You like something I don’t, so your opinion doesn’t matter” schtick, then all I can say to you is… Whatever.  
Years ago, we weren’t even allowed to like G1 or Equestria Girls in the brony fanbase. Heck, some internet circles, you’re not even allowed to be a brony, and like “the good pony show” period.

I admitted that I likely mis-remembered, but I didn’t mis-remember how she speaks rather openly when they first properly meet without rhyming.

Really? Why? Just because someone is dead doesn’t mean that you’re not allowed to mention them anymore. She’s not insulting or making fun of anyone, just explaining how AJ made her feel.
