“Real-life stuff” isn’t often worth the effort in the first place. Wisdom is in discerning when it is.

The idea that you need to give up something you love because “Oh, I need to focus on real life stuff” is a myth. Many adults learn to find the right balance. Of the other hoof, if the love ain’t there anymore then it’s time to move on.

And I don’t care what you or any of the other white knights think. That’s why I left to begin with. SaveMLP is NOT the splinter group I’m part of, as I completely disagree with almost all of their methods. Even if I don’t (entirely) disagree with the sentiment behind them.

I am tired of people taking a dump on characters I like (which S9 does), and people that support it.

I left the fandom. Although that’s not entirely accurate. I left the “main” fandom, because of the last season, and how I won’t be part of a community that accepts it. I am still part of a more or less splinter group.

I am still as much of a fan of the good parts of FIM as I have ever been, and that will never change. The community changed, and no longer aligns with what I’m a fan of, that’s what I mean by “left the main fandom”. If people respond to this by strawmanning by arguments or just doing the “but mah canon” argument trying to justify this, I usually just block them. I have no desire to interact with anyone that accepts this, or be part of a community that is willing to accept this. But there are some people that just genuinely don’t understand why I feel the way I do, which is why I do tend to explain it sometimes. More than a few times, I’ve heard “wow you’re right, I never thought of that”.

to me personally, every fandom has it’s extremists that embarrass the rest of the normal people who just like the show. It’s with every show, a good example is the Rick and Morty crowd, the ones who doxxed female employees because they didn’t like a season, and the Mcdonalds incident to say the least of it.
