How is he any more unlikable than say Bon Bon who only whined a couple of times in the show but is now a loved character all we could discern from her was her cutie mark which seemed to be she makes candy and that she hanged out with lyra, we know flash likes to play music and has a band is helpful and likes Twi he has the same amount of development as she did.
 
The only reason people complain about him is because people said he was a waifu stealer yeah he stole your non existent waifu that’s not creepy at all people said this so much it became a meme and people started rolling with it but now it’s gotten old and people are getting sick of it and are ready to give him some actual attention now there’s nothing that can be said about his character that can’t be said about almost any background pony.
