Before The Ending of the End? Absolutely. After having been petrified for god knows how long? Highly doubtful.
@Smart Heart
I concur. One would think that “reforming” would’ve involved learning some basic empathy, but it appears that he still views others as his to use, abuse and discard as he sees fit. Discord was a mistake.
They would be if we didn’t have that disgusting Grogar twist. I’ve got nothing against Nicole Dubuc, Michael Vogel, Josh Haber, and Jim Miller but I honestly think they made a dumb decision.
@Twilight_Shimmer
Very well. Counter-counter-counter argument (respectfully).
My point was that Cozy Glow isn’t capable of being a major threat to Equestria on her own. She’s a Pegasus filly. Sure, she can be crafty and manipulate a situation to her advantage, but without somebody straight up handing her the tools to bring about Doomsday as Discord and to a lesser extent Tirek did, she’s not some big scale threat. To that end, trapping her in stone and Tarturus as well for that matter is EXTREMELY excessive and cruel forms of imprisonment.
Yes, I know Discord didn’t act alone. I don’t really think that’s relevant and just goes to show Celestia and Luna are also to blame, but they weren’t the ones who were completely at fault for all the villains even being able to do the things that got them stoned to begin with. But Discord gets off Scott free. The punishment itself is incredibly hypocritical. Cozy Glow also never tried to destroy Equestria. Can’t exactly rule something that’s destroyed.
Finally, yes, I’m aware that people get tired of redeeming every villain. If you want an irredeemable villain, that’s fine, but realistically it just shouldn’t be Cozy Glow of all characters, especially not when you’re going to try and keep selling that DISCORD a character who’s existence revolves around creating disharmony is the type of character you’re selling as redeemable.
It’s like redeeming the Joker and then turning around and executing Baby Doll. There need to be some standards for what makes a character irredeemable and how they’re treated by the other characters or the entire thing will reek of hypocrisy.
Unfortunately, I think Tirek and Chrysalis are both set in stone on how they function. Their magic is based on siphoning energy in some way. The small pegasus is just a hurt child that takes things to the extreme. It trips me out to hear how she was dealt with.
“Cast the filly into hell prison.” But why not just friendship blast her and be done with it? The elements of harmony is that hard to control? Or does it have a mind of its own, regardless of the pones that use them?
@SSJGPiccles
I am going to counter you opinion (respectfully) with my own.
As to your first point about Cozy only being a threat due to villain’s helping her: I feel this is false due to the fact she actively sought out Tirek’s aid/advice/mentorship, now this is just my opinion (as stated before :) ) but this to me is something of a threat to everyones safety.
As to your second point: Stoning of Cozy (and Tirek and Chrissy) I’d like to point a few things. First Discord did not turn them to stone alone. He suggested it to Celestia and Luna who agreed and let him help them. Also unlike him who didn’t try and destroy Equestria Cozy Tirek and Chrysalis did try to.
Lastely: Like my previous post says. I am glad they didn’t get redeemed in the series as I feel it would have felt forced. Would I like to see it in future? Definitely, I feel (again like I said in myprevious post) that while theyd never admit it aloud, they are friends
Cozy Glow is a child with no family that no one has ever tried to genuinely reach out to or understand who’s only a threat because other villains keep helping her.
The elements didn’t turn Cozy to stone, Discord, the guy who keeps getting second chances and enabled all three of the villains in the first place, turned her to stone.
If this shown wants to argue nature vs. nurture, then DON’T tell me that the spirit of Chaos and Disharmony can be reformed, but this small child can’t be.
Nobody attempting to redeem Cozy doesn’t prove she’s irredeemable. It just proves that everyone else can be kind of crappy people.
Technically speaking almost anyone can if they can reform the literal spirit of chaos into working in harmony with others. But the question isn’t ‘can you be reformed’ the question is ‘can we figure out a way to do so before you cause more damage’
Prolly not Tirek and Cozy, but anything is possible. Cozy Glow is a, what? 12 yr old pegasus that is so evil the princesses were totally fine with sending her to Tartarus. She is a child that is so unredeemable that the elements were fine with turning her to stone. Seems to be an argument of Nature vs. Nurture, and apparently this is just her nature. Nopony argued that she could be saved after being her teacher and/or fellow student in the school. We don’t even hear a peep from her parents abou tit.
Again, anything is possible, but man has she got to be dark to the core to be so young and have nopony consider redemption for her. o.o;;
The very fact that you’re asking us to change your mind instead of simply trying to redeem yourselves speaks volumes to whether or not you can be reformed.
