How could her sister set a good example for her when her sister Celestia also smokes. However, she started smoking at the age of 735 or 785 or something like that until she turned into Nightmare moon. After 1000 years

Or any type of cancer.
Illnesses, she’ll get, some may kill her, many won’t.
Maybe she indulges in such vices because she can without repercussion?
I think her sister would prefer for her to be clean.
I don’t think she worries as much as her big sister about setting a good example for her subjects. Not as much pressure.

You know, if she’s immortal, she’s not going to get lung cancer. Maybe she indulges in such vices because she can without repercussion?

I’m fine with folks putting anything they like in their bodies they like, but in a society with functioning health care - meaning socialized and nationalized health care - I’m also happy with those drugs that do most harm being discouraged through bans, segregation into shuffling grey outdoors smokers’ gulags and the like.

The problem is that policy never follows the science and sets its response according to the evidence of harm. If we did, we’d be limiting access to alcohol nearly as much as we do tobacco, and opening up access to marijuana (smoked by itself).

Yeah, I think the most addictive thing I ever had was soda. Which, I have… like once a week at most.

That’s pretty neat. I always entertained myself of the prospect of being a writer on the side of whatever I am doing as a main career. I don’t think most people want to listen to my stuff, though. It’ll probably reek of science fiction.

Yes, I write quite a bit. I’ve had small bits of poetry published in a few magazines and I’m currently submitting my novel to a few possible publishers. (Don’t read too much into that. It means absolutely nothing and there’s no indication it will be published)

Weed basically saved my life but drinking has brought me low a few times. In fact, to this day I drink about a pint of whiskey a day. It’s rather rough on the old body. Of course, my lifespan projection isn’t all that long a line to deal with given other problems I’ve got so I don’t really care that much. Booze helps me write and think and imagine.

Still, if you’ve an addictive nature I recommend extreme caution or perhaps abstinence.

I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you have a strong liver like me.
You better stay away from it, won’t do you no good.

Medical causes are the only times I approve the use of drugs.
By the alcohol aspect, go on, I’m a fancy drinker myself.

Meh, I drink alot; smoke a pipe, and sometimes smoke cigarettes. (such as when I’m out and about or in a bar or something) and don’t plan on changing these habits. I don’t consider them “drugs” but some may.

I’ve found people generally dislike images of cigarette smoking far less than they do that of pipe smoking. Unless the cigarette is displayed as part of the motif, such as coupled with a greaser look or with the long black cigarette holders coupled with classy clothing or the whole “hipster” look.
