Description

The midnight’s storm raged on outside of the palace walls. Only one pony dared not to sleep yet; the young Princess Flurry Heart. She had gone to the palace’s Study Room to review one of her recent lessons with her mentor, Prince Sunburst. Her relationship with the stallion had been knit-tight ever since she was born, but after he wed Flurry’s aunt Princess Twilight Sparkle, it seemed to be more relaxed. Now she was attempting to perform a spell she had struggled for several lessons now: Breezie’s Billowing Blast. She sparked her unicorn horn to life, and an aquamarine aura engulfed it. She concentrated on a Breezie, the creature which the spell was named after. She pressured onto the spell more, and began to sweat in the effort. Suddenly, the aura around her horn faded; the spell had failed.
Flurry Heart grunted in defeat, and closed up her spellbook. She glanced over at her mentor’s desk, which resided in the corner of the room. Papers were scattered; some areas even had dust collecting on them. He hadn’t been using this desk very often since he had moved to Ponyville. She grew curious at some of the more faded documents. Her horn flared up again, and she levitated some of the papers off the desk. Flurry quickly trotted out of the room with the levitating papers trailing behind her.
She entered one of the palace’s many corridors. The lamps along the wall to her right were dimmed slightly, while rain pattered against the tall, wide window panes to her left. Flurry levitated the papers in front of her, using the aura from her horn as a light. As she walked towards the next turn, she scanned an important-looking letter:

“Dear Sunburst,
I hope that you are doing well at this particular time. I want to thank you again for proving the Empire’s Sorcerers and Mages with those particularly useful spells and tactics they could use in the Changeling War. Without your inclusion, let us just say we may not have defeated Queen Chrysalis in the end. I also hope you and my dearest sister-in-law are happy. She deserves a pony as caring and kind as you are. But onto more important matters, yes?
You may recall (I pray you are not that old yet!) the birth of the twins only a few months ago. It pains me and my husband that the filly, our little Nobelleous, has vanished. Shining has already sent out almost two dozen search parties to find our daughter, and we have become restless in this hard time. I am hoping that you could, perhaps, aid us in this search? I would plead through this letter if I could, Sunburst!
We have already searched the northern part of Equestria. I have asked Celestia and Luna to send out search parties as well, and if they accept, their own guards should search the east and west. Perhaps Captain Tempest can send out some of your wife’s guards in this perilous situation? Captain Flash has been such a helpful hoof here in the Crystal Empire, so need not you should worry about the guards here. I am willing to provide extra guards at the Castle of Friendship in exchange.
Please respond as soon as you can!
Princess Cadence of the Crystal Empire”

Flurry gawked at the letter. “N-Nobelleous?” she croaked. She had never heard that name before. Yet it seemed like she should have. Desperate for more information, she shuffled through the pile of papers. She noticed the corner of a faded photo sticking out from behind a document, and moved it to the front. In the picture was Flurry Heart herself as a foal, with an even younger foal by her side. The little filly had violet-white fur, a mane with the colors blue, magenta, and lavender, and pegasus wings tipped lavender. Her bright aquamarine eyes shined with admiration as she looked up at the younger Flurry Heart.
She had no clue who this filly was. Was she related to her? Is Nobelleous a distant cousin of hers. Flurry stared back at the letter, frustration clouding her thoughts. “…the birth of the twins only a few months ago. It pains me and my husband that the filly, our little Nobelleous…”. Twins? Flurry thought. But I only have a younger brother, not a younger sister as well! Unless, they never found her!
Flurry hadn’t realized her eyes were watering up. She dropped the documents on the floor, and blindly ran through the corridors towards her room. She slammed the door behind her, and collapsed onto the rug. After about an hour of processing, she got up and levitated every book from her personal collection out of their bookcases. She spent the rest of the night searching for a clue or just something that would tell her more…
