Description

The metal bucket creaked softly as it swung back and forth in the breeze, the clatter of the wheels overhead coming and going with every pass over the intermittent cable towers. Night Strike let off a soft sigh, watching the mountaintop cave entrance drawing nearer - sure wasn’t exactly a speed demon, this thing that Pressure Cooker called the Tensioned, Overhead, Powered Hylund Aerial Tramway, which was understandably just shortened to ‘TOPHAT’, but at least it was a straight shot to his cave, and also a fair sight safer than her trying to drive there. ‘sides, in some ways, it was kinda relaxing.

The quiet sounds of clattering wheels were broken with a small scream, the pegasus feeling her basket shaking a bit more than it had been. Looking to the bucket behind hers on the line, she could just about make out the sight of Parchment finally waking up, and looking none too happy about her predicament at that. It was kinda understandable, really. “Morning sleepy-head! We’re almost there!”

“WHERE THE HELL ARE WE!? WHY IN CELESTIA’S NAME ARE WE SO HIGH OFF THE GROUND!?!” Well, both were definitely valid questions, that’s for sure. ‘specially for somepony who just woke up halfway through a half-hour trip. Night Strike looked over the edge of her basket, peering to the valleys below - well, definitely is one hell of a drop at this point, ain’t it? Not any worse than what she usually gets while flying around on the Stork, though, but for somepony without wings… yeah.

“I told you, I know someone who can help! We’re heading to his place now, this was the best route!” Her eyes fell back to the bucket behind her, the pony inside still shaking the cable some as he moved around inside it. Jeez, calm down, wouldja?

“Oh, no, you are NOT telling me that THIS was the best way! I DON’T wanna get splatted on the rocks below a hell of a lot more than I wanna get back to being a stallion!” Well, least she’s got her priorities straight. The cars continued along the cableway, Night Strike’s passing over another one of the cable towers with a clatter, Parchment’s following suit. As the pegasus watched behind her, she at least let off a sigh in seeing Parchment reconsidering making a jump for the tower - yeah, might be a smaller drop there, but I still wouldn’t recommend it, ya dummy. “Okay, okay, how much longer, then?!”

Night Strike looked ahead - she could almost see the upper terminus, right outside Hylund’s cave door. Couldn’t be more than six, seven minutes away by now, probably. “We’ll be there soon, almost over! Just try and stay calm, alright? these baskets aren’t meant to be shook about so much!”

“Calm, yeah, hah, good joke! Oh Celestia…” The pegasus let off a long sigh, feeling her car still being shaken about slightly by Parchment’s panicked movements. Well, at least her adrenaline’s already going, might help a bit.

Sure that her meeting a dragon would’ve had it going anyways…
