Kegworth

“Well… here we are.” Sandbar pointed out his family home. Normally he would be happy to see it, but this time all he felt was anxiety. The only comfort he can take in this moment is that Yona is currently experiencing the same feeling, for the same reason.

Sandbar looked behind him to watch Yona walk forward until she reached the point in the path right beside him, with that same apprehension gripping her from the moment they started this journey. Making every step more difficult than the last. She did her best to speak through quivering lips, “B.. bu… but what if… they no like Yona?”

Sandbar stopped for a moment, gently putting his left foreleg over her shoulders in a comforting manner. “Believe me Yona…I know the feeling. I’m just as worried that your family may not take too kindly to me, either.”

Yona could only look at Sandbar with the same expression that denoted how worried she was for what they were about to do, once they walked inside that house not too from them. “Yaks are best at… many things… but this?” No more words were needed from Yona at the moment, so Sandbar slowly took his foreleg off of her shoulder to ponder his next move.

Putting his thoughts on hold, Sandbar turned to Yona, and gently coaxed her to look at him face to face. “Yona… look at me. Wether our families accept it or not… I’ll be there to support you. Like I always have…” He then gently place his hoof under her chin, “… and I always will.”

Yona stared back at Sandbar for a moment … before her facial expression softened, indicating her worries have somewhat eased. She respond to Sandbar’s gesture with a gentle nod, and a single word. “…okay…”
