Speaking of subtle heartwarming lesbian stuff, from what I’ve heard from someone who watched the episode, Aunt Holiday told Auntie Lofty something like, “Don’t tease my brother” as opposed to something like “Don’t tease our brother.” So that more or less means those two aren’t related. So they’re not related and they live together and they’re Scootaloo’s aunts, so a smart person can easily fill in the blanks and say, “Oh, they’re a lesbian couple.”

And now that I’ve seen what the rough translation is, there’s zero spoken words to indicate anything outside they live together and get along well. This scene is the most they give about their possible relationship.

Aww, what a heartwarming scene. Almost makes me forget that Equestria’s worst of the worst are still out there, and that Grogar got his bell back.

Without English, this shot is the only sign of any affection between the two and even that’s not overtly a “loving” gesture.
 
If you didn’t follow any of the show staff stuff, this is completely innocent. If you do, you know this is about as big as a wink they can give us without scaring the more conservative-side of parenting, but it is nice that this is being handled this way.

Heartwarming. And we finally see a bona fide lesbian couple in the show, to boot.

Nope, this whole celebration was to convince the parents that Scoots needed to be with her friends as they mean so much to so many, so they let her stay, with the aunts promising to watch over her.

It’s about time!

So Scoots is going to go with her parents and leave Ponyville?
