The whole argument is invalid anyway, because once we’re a couple of seasons into G5 everyone, including those who bashed the latter seasons of G4 and/or the finale, will be like ”y’know what? They/it wasn’t that bad! In fact I’d argue that it was pretty good!” I saw that with Star Wars prequel haters after the new SW movies, and especially after The Last Jedi, came out; I saw it with Star Trek Voyager and/or Enterprise haters after the Abrams reboots, and especially after Into Darkness and Discovery, came out; and I’m pretty sure I’ll see it with MLP too.
