Perfect backups should follow the 3-2-1 rule.  
The rule is: keep at least three (3) copies of your data, and stored on at least two (2) different storage medias, with one (1) of them located offsite.

You have one copy of data on your computer in your house  
You have one copy of your data on an external hard drive in your house  
You have one copy of your data on the cloud
