@IceKitsune
Certainly the game will show up in more tournaments, but this was the one. I find it really hard to believe the game will ever get in such a “mainstage” spotlight by chance as this tournament was going to be (pretty much an entire weekend for itself on what was the biggest tournament of the year on an international scale). Combo Breaker (my current favorite) and CEO will certainly keep trucking but those feel more like really big community-centered events instead of the gigantic e-sports worldwide olympics scale that EVO had. And one can also guess eventually something will replace EVO, but that will be far away from the little time this game is having on the mainstream… It’s going to be a very steep cliff to climb into this spot again once this pandemic is over and the usual giants come back to take their spots (but hey! UNI did it, so there is hope).
Still, Manesix did the right thing, they got a pretty rotten deal with all this going down ONE FREAKING DAY before their tournament started and knowing what they were throwing when doing what they did. So I have nothing but admiration for them.
I could totally see some of the other big tournaments picking up the Online EVO games for their lineup. Like as you said ComboBreaker or CEO etc. That will end up being exposure just as big as EVO since I have a feeling it will take a while for EVO to pick itself back up if it even can.
We still got the attention we couldn’t think of, and it was right after game went 1.0. We got influx of players and the game isn’t so unknown anymore, people actually gave it a try at last despite all the stigma and “pony game” memes around it, and they were not disappointed.
We’ll get ’em next time. ComboBreaker scheduled for the next year for sure.

Well, joke’s on him; look what happened to TFH now.

In that disscussion yes
And he was the only one with that dumb opinion?
They were on the 1.0 announcement video that got featured a little bit ago arguing that TFH is a dead game that the fandom shouldn’t try to promote at all. They seemingly expected an indie fighting game to do Street Fighter 5 and Mortal Kombat 11 numbers of people constantly playing it online.
Edit: BTW just to make this clear even after this EVO bump it still will almost certainly not be doing that kind of numbers just in case someone wants to argue that. It will raise the profile of the game in the FGC immensely but it will likely never get to the level of a Capcom or NRS game.
Edited because: Added more thoughts
Should I know him?
Where’s this guy at now?
This one isn’t Hasbro’s fault, at least not completely anyway, the rights issues for Power Ranger/Super Sentai is very complicated around the world. From what I have heard some places can’t even buy BFTG because of those issues which is more likely why it didn’t get in than just Hasbro itself.
Hasbro really hates fun
Power Rangers has to be a licensing hellscape not seen since TvC. Sometimes we’re lucky DBFZ is still allowed at EVO, so sadly, BtfG didn’t have much of a chance.
To add to this, a lot of people are asking how TFH made it and Battle for the Grid didn’t… and I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason behind it is because of THE TROUBLES associated with Hasbro (or most likely, the Power Rangers brand in general).
Well, yeah. Exactly. That’s where my crossover idea came from.
There have been some skullgirls/blazblue crossover into TFH already (even though it’s just some avatar skins). See https://derpibooru.org/images/1658250
Hence the question.

It’s nowhere to be seen in the announcement video.
