You also have to remember that the series kept introducing characters which means some people will find a new ship to spend time on.
A lot of people ship Twilight with Flash, Sunset, and Tempest which means less to go around for the old pairings.
I wonder if it had anything to do with Rarity improving as a character. She was never a bad character to begin with, but I think she got better over time (that Spike/Gabby episode not withstanding), not to mention she She was always stronger willed, like Applejack(who also improved, though not to the same extent as Rarity) and Rainbow Dash, and I think that’s why those ships (RariDash and Appledash) overtook TwiDash.

Well, it was a hugely popular ship, but it’s kind of like anything else in the fandom. The show’s over at this point, people have moved on to different characters/things or just lost interest I guess.
What killed this pairing, anyway? I remember it being quite popular back in the day.

That’s kinda the reason I started drawing them. I’ve always been a huge fan of the ship, and since their art slowed down I figured I’d just start drawing them myself. I may have also been on a TwiDash binge on fimfiction lately lol
To me, it doesn’t matter if it’s super popular or not. I love them together and that’s all that matters. They will always be the best OG ship in my eyes. Having people like you making amazing art for an amazing ship helps out people like me that crave it, so keep it up!
