After marrying Discord and becoming a mother, Fluttershy’s dedication to her animals never wavered. It may have been a lot on her plate at times, but the gentle pegasus continued to raise her daughter and look after her sanctuary (not to mention be a good wife, uphold her position in Twilight’s court…needless to say she left her teaching job in capable hooves). With Athena being a slightly calmer kid than expected (keyword, slightly), Fluttershy was able to take the time and earn her official veterinarian’s license.
 
She takes in animals in need, and helps them recuperate. Some are permanent residents that need extra attention; some are ready to be adopted into loving homes; and some are cared for until they’re ready to return to their wild lives. Of course, Fluttershy has some extra help, with Dr. Fauna helping out with checkups, Lily Longsocks rehabilitates hedgehogs that come into her care, and Athena loves to complete most any task her mother gives her. The pegasus mare feels content in her work, and loves teaching her young friends the amazing things about animals that some would otherwise find weird or scary.
