I don’t disagree entirely - it is a money grab, but think about it, instead of just refreshing the firstborn line and therefore losing money because not everyone would buy it, they instead make a whole new line so not only are they bony just making the same thing again (which would’ve been complained about), they make something new and also get to play around with new rules. They also make more money doing this.
It makes sense.

They are just a money grabbing scheme by GW in order to force players of the most popular army (Space Marines) to buy new models since the old ones are outdated.
Instead of giving the armies that haven’t seen any updates in years and are in dire need of new support some new models.
Both from a story writing standpoint and a game development standpoint primaries are a complete asspull.
