‘Only’? That is literally 77 years ago! Also, keep in mind that, due to it being the official language, most official documents in that country are written in Indonesian, and most businesses (including Japanese-owned AEON) use Indonesian for their advertising. As such, this English language ad is quite unusual for Indonesia. Since it isn’t spoken by that many Indonesian residents, I would guess that this ad is made for people visiting Indonesia.
Edit: Also, even if Indonesian technically wasn’t the ‘official’ language before 1945, the majority of Indonesian residents spoke the language well before that. Even under Portuguese control most Indonesians spoke Indonesian instead of Portuguese.

There’s hundreds of separate dialects, and the government only chose one to be the Official state language in 1945. Give it another generation or two.

I visited Aeon Bogor during visiting Jakarta. It was not bad, but there is no showtime or something…

AEON operates malls in Indonesia? I thought that company only owned malls in Japan, since that’s where they are headquartered.

Also, I question what a MLP ‘meet and greet’ would even look like in the context of Indonesia.

(Edit: And why is that written in English? Indonesian is the dominant language of Indonesia, with English being a minority language. It is the dominant language of Singapore, sure, but Singapore isn’t in Indonesia or Malaysia).
