Thats not a good comparison at all. Starlight was a maniacal cult leader, Misty is an abused child. And the title of the show is make your mark, misty is a main focus (getting more time then some of the m5). There really wouldnt be a reason to drag it out, esp since they already are planting seeds of misty doubting opaline. Misty will likely revolt against her at the end of s1 or 2. Of course Misty will have alot to work on being abused and all, and Opaline is so important to the whole lore shes prob gonna be a multi season villian or reccuring.
Also mistys symbol is literally a butterfly, something that symbolizes great change and rebirth.

Well I hope your wrong on this. Opaline is just using her as a tool. Once her power is restored she’ll toss her aside.
She won’t give her a cutie mark, you saw how abusive she is to Misty in the last episode of chapter 2. I say she has good inside of her and might join Sunny and her friends, to help her get a cutie mark and a place to make her special in equestria.

I don’t think so. At least not for a few more Seasons.

Make Your Mark’s Opening Title showed the Mane 5 going up against Opaline and Misty as the main villains of G5 so it’s clear that Misty won’t be ‘reformed’ for a good long time. If I had to take a guess I’d say that Misty might be ‘reformed’ at the end of G5 or sooner if more new G5 villains finally shows up in the G5 series later and ‘takes Misty’s place’.

But because Hasbro has to give Opaline a ‘Villian Sidekick’ in the series, there’s a good chance that Misty won’t be ‘reformed’ until maybe Season 5 or Season 6 when the series’ is 2/3rds of the way finished.

Starlight Glimmer wasn’t reformed until the end of Season 5 when Twilight finally defeats her for good and had her become her friend from the begining of Season 6 and foward on in the fim series so it’s probably going to be the same for Misty if Hasbro has G5 follow fim’s story progression.

So I wouldn’t expect Misty to be ‘reformed’ in G5 any time soon.

But Misty is not a villain. Neither was Sprout.

A year ago everyone (meaning everyone who thinks there must be a new Mane 6) was convinced it would be Sprout. Maybe there never will be. G4 reformed boatloads of ex villains but never gave any of them a new Ranger suit.

This isn’t much of a theory. It’s been painfully obviously telegraphed from the start that Misty’s gonna turn good.

I wondered how events in A New Generation would have looked like if Misty and Opaline appeared earlier.
