No, my headcanon involves Luna, Strongheart, and Steven teaming up to save Equestria from an invasion of flaming hellcat things with airships and Crimson Skies-esque flying machines with the Night Guard and two of ep1 manticore’s children as backup. She arrived back soon after sending the flagship crashing into the sea, using magic to readjust herself so she looked like she just got up after a good nap so no one would the wiser. When she asks what’s up, both she and her sister share looks that say “If only they knew…” which slightly confuses both of them, but they go on with the wedding as normal. Chessmaster Magneto-Luna is just my preferred ‘accepted by the majority’ fanon.
Quite frankly, this.
In other words, your headcanon is that Luna is not only a horrible, horrible pony that will put the lives of thousands at risk for bullshit reasons, but is also a massive hypocrite, considering that she gave in to dark powers because she was too weak of character to resist it. Good.
Dats poifect!
@Zombie_Trotsky
Also acceptable. But only if Shiny joins. (We know who really wears the pants there!)
Guess that leaves only one other option then.
Discord for Princess!
We know you hate Luna already, no need to say it three times. :p
@Niggoslav_Krawczyk
Pulling string and moving pawns.
Nah I mean she had totally legit reasons to do so, and both proved neither of them have their heads on straight enough to properly run a kingdom. Usually that fanon includes celestia being a high-strung goofball and her advisors just have to kind of tolerate her.
Now we’ve got two princesses who can’t rule effectively. #2 has the brains and the numbers, but is prone to bouts of random transmogrification if times/results aren’t perfect. Anyone for some melon? Oh, there’s a hoof in mine!
Luna as a traitor and is doubting of sister’s might? Throw her into Tartarus and let her burn in eternal fire.
Like I said. Nightmare Moon is waiting for the perfect moment to strike…and regrets thinking Chrysalis could act.
I like the fanon that Luna was the encourager of the invasion, but didn’t want to make it too easy for either side. She let Chrysalis know of Canterlot but also sent the ‘threat’ that caused the shield to go up. Secret test of both strength and character upon her sister. Both she and Twilight failed miserably, but Cadence ruined her Big Damn Hero moment, so she respects Cadence, but neither her sister nor Twilight, though they’re still friends. And that’s why she seems so perturbed at ‘twilight’s ascension’ in s3.
My point when I mentioned that Luna didn’t rejoin society until Nightmare Night is that it is unlikely that Luna actually knew Cadance. She didn’t necessarily feel like attending the wedding of someone that was effectively a stranger. Even if Luna is trying to be social, she doesn’t seem to spend her free time in Canterlot.
My point about Luna living outside of Canterlot is that she wasn’t present at the battle, so she couldn’t have just been woken up. It’s a very different thing than just sleeping through it, which is what a lot of people claim happened.
Yes it would. The angry monkey with the crowbar beside the writing table would not allow it.
Yeah, just wishful thinking. Ah well, we still got art for that!
Like stomping the hell of this coming season’s villian, unlikely but wishful thinking.
Luna gets little screentime, Celestia gets little depth in her screentime.
@Princess♠Molestia
How’s about still kinda bitter about the last thousand years, because that isn’t the sort of thing someone just gets over?
But seriously, would it have killed them to give us an indication of where Luna was and what she was doing?
>for whatever reason.
Those are the key words.Until the staff ever decides to explain why she wasn’t there(other than the real/obvious anwser of “last minute changes” or “Time constraints”)people are going to interpret those reason whatever they want.
Just like people decide to interpret Celestia’s reason in a negative light,I can’t see any reason why people can’t do the same with Luna’s,be it “She fell asleep,she was lazy,she didn’t want to do anything,etc.
As for Luna rejoining Equestrian society,hey remember that we are talking about a mare who became wicked because she thought nobody appreciated her nights,and considering she wanted to socialize with her Ponyville subjects (which she succeeded to do),her being in the wedding should not be something strange.
She wants to interact with her ponies.
A shame really. It would be nice to see an episode where all the princesses do something awesome.
Out of all the Princesses, Luna does the least. She’s cool and all but she’s usually there for show bar the Scootaloo episode.
Nightmare Moon never died, she just changed form and is waiting for the perfect moment to strike, hence why she didn’t help at the wedding.
Luna as an uncaring douche towards her sister? No wonder later that night Celestia showed Luna’s head into her anus (Luna’s anus) so deep that they had to use a Volvo FH16 750 8X4 to get it out.
Yeah? She didn’t fly in until after the wedding ceremony, for whatever reason.
Also, given that Luna didn’t rejoin Equestrian society until Nightmare Night, I don’t think that she actually knows Cadance that well. I’m not sure if Luna even met Cadance before the wedding.
I actually can’t recall Luna getting the short end of the stick, bar the ponies being scared of her when she first showed up, but that got fixed. Though she’s had about… 40 minutes of screen time at most, not counting Nightmare Moon, so it’s a hard to make judgement there.
