The book in question is “Soul Stealer by Martin Booth”. This is a polish translation titled “Złodziej Dusz”. Page on photo is 48 out of 227 (going by pdf I found online).
Yes, you will flow with the current, you will lurk the base, you will fish. Whatever you do, just don’t say: “Like me, the weather will be merciful to us today” when you want to say that it won’t rain. Everyone will think you’ve fallen off the Christmas tree.
Polish-English DeepL translation of the one visible paragraph, in case anyone else was curious.

A picture of this bookmark was posted on For Glorious Equestria (a Polish MLP fansite modeled after Equestria Daily) on May 23, 2013 along with other fanart by someone going by the name DrawingDye.
Â
There used to be a Polish artist on DeviantArt going by that name, but the account is now deactivated, which explains why a reverse search doesn’t reveal the original image.
Â
There is, however, another DeviantArt account called TenebrisTayga made by a Polish user with a ponysona known as DrawingDye, and [artist:drawingdye](/search?q=artist%3Adrawingdye) is an alias to [artist:tenebristayga](/tags/artist-colon-tenebristayga) on Derpibooru.
As a german pony I’m preeeetty sure the german tag is wrong, as the books words ain’t german. I’m no expert but I rather assumed it’s from Poland or Czech or something.
Â
Removed the tag, until whoever posted it meant something else with the german tag, then I’m sorry.
I hate Pinterest because every time I’m trying to find an image via Google Images so I can download it, and click on the image so I can find the source image (which is higher resolution), anything hosted on Pinterest always brings me to a page with 40 images on it, none of which are the one I originally clicked on.
Â
It’s part of the reason why, to this day, I still detest how Google removed the “View Original Image” button.

I wondered if it was a book you had to read in school, but I don’t remember any book having slang in it..
All I can tell is that it must be relatively recent (probably written within the last 30 years), Tim is speaking in slang.
