So your saying that the ancient ponies were actually ponies that had little to no resemblance culturally to the modern ponies ,and in terms of human comparison the story would have been a Persian act that was adopted by other cultures to suit their racial taste and ideology . So your saying the ponies are really Arabic ,Muslims ,whatever the proper term is is for the people of Middle East ,though Islam should not have existed yet rigth?

I also imagine that most ponies, regardless of race, are majority working class underlings while the few elites oversee everything. There are exceptions to everything.
 
Fluttershy lives and works like a earth pony even though she is a pegasi; Snips, Snails, and Sweetie Belle are not exactly bright despite being unicorns; Bill Neigh the Science Pony from Twilight’s I wasn’t Prepared song was an example of an intellectual Earth Pony.

Eh, I’m not too sure about the Unicorns having dominion… But, I like the ideas presented here OP :)
