Hello everyone! I’m a fairly new SFM artist on here (NSFW Warning). Anyways, I wanted to open this thread because in the many years I’ve been using SFM, I’ve been plagued by one specific issue I have never been able to find a solution to: the dreaded “CUtlRBTree overflow!” error. Anyone who’s dealt with this issue will know how much of a pain it is to run into and troubleshoot. While toggling a target model’s visibility on and off is a surefire way to get rid of the issue and speed the program up, in most cases it defeats the whole purpose of posing and animating as I can’t see what I’m posing/animating. I’ve learned to live with and work around it, but I’m wondering if any other SFM artist has dealt with this issue before? And if so, how have you been able to solve or work around it?
I’ve found a multitude of suggested fixes: Create new session & start from scratch, lower project framerate, Delete workshop files, verify integrity of app. files, uninstall/reinstall/move install, SDK Launcher options, placing addons in unique folders instead of usermod, etc. While one or more has worked for others, none have for me and others I’ve seen plagued with the same issue.
