That's exactly what i'm doing, except that since my paper supply is limited, i can't just go for sketches - i go for fully-colored pieces whenever i need to practice.

Although it is quite frustrating how everybody always says my drawings are improving, i can see they are too, and yet my earlier art often has higher scores than my newer material...

Same for me. except that on my case it's more like - i can't afford commissions, so i might as well draw my headcanons myself.
