He kinda announced leaving back when S03 was starting, iirc. He made a few more things after that at random, yeah, but always maintained that he was "gone".
Why close the account and such? I have no idea, I literally do not have the capability to understand that sort of thing.
He has an active twitter, I guess people could look at that in the coming days for any mentions of why. Personally, I would pester him about it, probably already gotten dozens of pings across whatever-many sites/platforms he's on.
