Hmm. Neat video, but with as many “in general”-s as he had to throw around, I’m inclined to believe the real difference is something else, or maybe even just marketing. For example, what is this?
Using those criteria:
5) It’s not based on any other car or truck platform, so ???
4) 4wd, so SUV
3) Solid axles, so SUV
2) It’s only rated for 2000 lbs towing, so CUV
- It’s unibody, so CUV
I’d say SUV, since I tend to think of SUVs as being significantly more capable than cars either as an off roader or in terms of capacities, with CUVs being essentially cars that are SUV-shaped. But, that really doesn’t work either, since now vans wind up meeting the criteria for being an SUV.
On a related subject, anyone know the technical difference between four wheel drive and all wheel drive? Is it just the low-range gearing?
