Legally speaking, if he legit targeted children and put them on this list, wouldn’t he get into serious trouble for attacking minors? I’m almost certain that the parents of the kids would get involved and file some sort of defamation suit against him and sue him in the process.

Way too easy to fake screenshots like that, especially now that there’s a motive to do so. There’d have to be something way more substantial.

I don’t like DataByte as the OP post stated, and I don’t know how things will go, I will admit that lazy ass moderation teams just banning people off the list is very stupid though. Anyway considering peoples attention span, he’ll probably be forgotten about which just leaves him to do more retarded shit in the future.

The irony is, the first story that made me notice he has taken down Foalcon stories from FIMFetch is called “Scootaloo and the Pillow”. A story about Scootaloo humping a pillow while fantasizing about Sweetie Belle. Looks like DataByte really likes that pillow, after all. :3

Probably not defamation, if those kids/teens really looked at Foalcon. But for doxxing and stalking they can get him. Parents hate it when their children get stalked online. If a minor finds themselves on that list, they should tell their parents about it. He brings them in danger.

It’s the same thing that happened with violent video games at the end of the 90s and the early 2000s. Or with video games in general in the 80s. Or with TVs in the 60s. They said TVs will kill social life, that everyone will just stare into a screen and that no one will talk anymore. In the 80s, they said video game players are addicts, with no social life, no sense for reality and that all of them are shut-ins. Then it was “Videogames kill people!” when games became graphically more realistic and closer to reality in looks and gameplay. They said the games will make players want to shoot people. “Counterstrike”, in particular, was said to turn people into terrorists. Every time there was a shooting somewhere, they looked for violent games in the home of the shooter. If they found any, they blamed the games. And ignored the real problem. Quick and easy.
Now it’s Foalcon and Lolicon and they say it makes people rape and sexually assault children. Same old story. Society will eventually grow out of this too. Until then, people like DataByte and his conspirators will stay a nuisance and try to make people lives’ hell.

But one also can’t ignore such plans and let them happen. They do hurt people and endanger them. No one likes being discriminated and getting excluded from places despite not doing anything wrong and no one likes being doxxed and receiving death threats. This plan is an attempt to make the paranoid and uneducated people rule over everyone and have them make the decisions who is allowed to exist somewhere and who isn’t. And if they were to succeed with getting everyone who likes Foalcon or is neutral about it banned from all pony Discord servers, as unlikely as that is, it would embolden them. Would make them feel stronger and then the Discord mob would come for places. And in any case, they make life hard for lots of people now. This can’t go unanswered.

@Background Pony #24FF is right. Something should be done about DataByte and everyone who helps him. Preferably something legal and with court power behind it.

That’s to expect. It’s the most obvious excuse. Of course he is saying that. But if he claims it’s fake, he has to prove that now. The burden of proof is on the one who makes a claim. An no one with the screenshot has made any claims. They only released the screenshot and let DataByte’s own words speak for themselves. Only DataByte is making a claim now in response to that screenshot. The burden of proof is on him. Let’s wait and see if they even believe him. At least one person in that server is already not truly on board with that plan, hence the leak of the list and the leaked chat. I would be very surprised if he isn’t getting burnt alive in that server right now.

That’s a shame, yes. I am sorry you’re having to go through this. I have been banned and excluded from places without doing anything wrong, or just because I criticized the people in power, myself. I know how horrible that feels. I hope you can get back in there under a different identity and that you will be able to reconnect with trusted people in these servers without getting banned again.

And I have some hope that the admins and moderators of most Discord servers look through this plan and understand what DataByte and his conspirators are trying to do here. Foalcon has gotten bigger in the last 10 years and there has been an increase of intellect in the fandom about it, in the way that most folks today understand that it isn’t harming children. You can see that at how casually Foalcon is being treated today, how even authors and artists who don’t focus on it try it out or create a Foalcon work occasionally in-between their SFW art. The fandom is smarter about Foalcon these days than to break ties with people or ban them for affiliation reasons.
And don’t take Equestria Daily serious about it, either. EQD is already not the place it used to be anymore for quite a number of years now. Cancel culture is rampant on it for a long time now, the admins and mods there are jerks by nature, Sethisto blacklists everyone if enough people cry for that or if brony creators with influence demand that. Just ask Makenshi, who used to be EQD’s music poster and how they silenced him. This is pretty typical for EQD, it’s a toxic place today and they are a very exclusive and hateful circlejerk there, most places in the fandom are much better than EQD these days.
There is hope that most Discord servers recognize this as the horrible scheme it is and don’t play along with DataByte’s plan.
