It is complete and utter BS that so many jobs require a certain amount of “prior experience” to get hired. How are you expected to get prior experience if you can’t work a job in the first place due to all of them requiring prior experience?

If you are discouraged by the Job description then you would throw the towel anyway.

I remember reading about one instance where someone saw a job requiring eight years of prior experience in a programming language… that itself was only three years old. So stupid.

And if you legitimately can’t find any companies to hire you because they all require way too much prior experience? That’s a problem my mom dealt with back from 2006-2011, when she was unemployed.
