Sorry, I didn't see this earlier. I was posting my live reactions as I went through. I'll try to keep it concise. I only have a little more left.

**SPOILERS INBOUND:**
||Gadget and Zipper|| are such an uncanny couple. They have absolutely no chemistry, even in the movie. I think the filmmakers knew how off it was.

Oh, come on. The ||Mickey|| logo in the firework was a cheap gag.

A ||*Jurassic Park*|| reference, too. For no real reason other than "It exists." And followed immediately by a ||*Terminator 2*|| reference. I'm starting to see the later-era Nostalgia Critic comparisons.

I'm starting to get a headache because the constant references have me overstimulated. I can barely pay attention to the goddamn plot, as light as it is, because my brain is going, "Huh, there's X, Y, and Z in this shot." It was practically purpose-built for those "10 Hidden References You Missed In [Insert Movie Here]" videos. If you asked Doug Walker to reboot *Rescue Rangers*, he'd make this. I don't know how he'd review it, though, since the film already comments on itself.

Oh my god. ||Ugly Sonic|| really *does* play more of a role in this movie than Gadget.

||Ugly Sonic|| is such a weird joke. Like, the joke is that he exists, and that's it. But who's gonna get that joke five years from now? Hell, even today it's a dated joke. ||The first *Sonic* trailer|| debuted in 2019.
That's the thing with any humor: If it's a joke that relies on the audience knowing current real life stuff to understand, then chances are it won't hold up years on down the line. Like the ending of *Two and a Half Men*. Nobody is going to get it unless they are aware of the Charlie Sheen drama occurring at the time.

Was the polar bear a reference to something? It feels like with this film he has to be a reference, but I have no idea what.

It's weird that they just straight-up forgot that Gadget existed in the climax. Especially considering that ||she literally only arrived in the third act||.

You've got to be kidding me. They're doing the "||Oh no, Dale is dead||" fakeout *twice* in the movie?

There's ||Chip's mom||. I wonder if ||there's porn of her yet||. Funny, I always assumed that Chip and Dale were brothers.

And it ends with them lampshading the "||Pop star does a serious take on the theme song||" trope immediately right before doing it.
That's the film in a nutshell, I feel. "Boy, ||bad rapping|| in films sure is bad. It'd be awful if we did ||bad rapping||. Oh no, now we have to ||rap badly||!" Saying X is bad and then doing X is not a joke. Or, well, it *is* a joke, but it's too bad the punchline is everyone who paid to watch this movie.

Overall, that film was better than I expected, but that doesn't mean it was very good. The references and reliance on nostalgia and self-aware humor really bogged it down, which is strange because when you strip them away, you're left with a really basic, seen-before plot about the importance of friendship and teamwork. It *is* truly a very Doug Walker-esque movie, which blows my mind since it's getting critical praise all across the board. But heck, at least Doug would be less likely to forget that over half of the main cast existed for most of the film. And for all his flaws, at least Doug is earnest and believes that what he's doing is fine art. *Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers* isn't, and it suffers for it.
I'd actually argue that it's an insult to the original *Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers* show. And I'm not saying that from a stereotypical manchild nostalgia perspective, I'm saying that the way this movie is executed is an acknowledgement that a pure movie based on the *Rescue Rangers* cartoon wouldn't be marketable. So instead we get all this meta-irony reference indulgence crap using Chip 'n Dale as puppets. This movie could've been done with any old cartoon franchise. Imagine if they did this with *DuckTales*, or *Bonkers*.
I assume it's only being praised because "Ooh, look how deep and clever this film is, making fun of Disney and movie tropes!" But, like, it's still ultimately selling a product. It's still arguing that copyright infringement is the same as human trafficking.

I give it 5/10 for some creative concepts and jokes and for the effort it took to animate it.
