Tropical Cyclone Thread

So this next Storm forming near Yucatan and heading in the Gulf. This one will be named Idalia.

The eye has opened.

I never expected that small cloud puff last Monday would grew into such a strong storm today.

Saola (Goring)’s eye now uncomfortably close to Isabela/Aurora provinces and is moving dangerously slow, these guys rn are feeling the brunt of the force. In about a few moments it will start moving southeast away from inland then move north then northwest in the next few days completing the loop.

Saola (Goring) is now moving on a more eastward direction, has lost it’s eye, has slightly weakened and shrunked in size. But this doesn’t mean it is going to weaken further, it will still get stronger once it move northwestwards in the next coming days.

Saola (Goring) is finally moving the typically normal northwest track as most typhoons do here. And it will impact the northernmost part of the Philippines (Batanes Islands).

Meanwhile… Idalia’s forecast is showing an ominous track with yet again Florida target painted with major hurricane landfall.

I swear, it’s always the name beginning with the letter “I” that has been notoriously making a fuss in America.

Irma, Ida, Ian and now… probably Idalia. Lmao

What a plot twist

It wouldn’t surprise me if Idalia reaches at least Cat 4 before making landfall, given how unusually warm the water is around Florida.

Same, but what it truly surprises me is that there is a large concentration of storms with the same initials that makes landfall in the US where it deals catastropic damage and loss of lives.

Meanwhile Saola looks to skirt Hong Kong by it’s south. I already contacted my mother who works there to brace for this one. It could be the place’s strongest since 2018.

Glad Idalia was overhyped.

West Pacific right now is active as fuuuuuck.

Saola is getting uncomfortably close to Hong Kong as a Super Typhoon right now… This might graze that place or a probable direct hit which is the one that’s worrying me.

I already told my mother who works there to buy days long supplies and stay indoors, her condo is just right beside the sea on the west side of Hong Kong Island. I fear a storm surge could flush the surroundings near her building.

This could be Hong Kong’s strongest typhoon since 2018.

Saola thankfully isn’t a super anymore but it is now making it’s closest approach on Hong Kong.
The main lobby’s door of my mother’s condominium just got shattered, the winds is making this howling noises similar to a train whistle or the dreaded aztec whistle.

Typhoon Signal T10 is now raised in Hong Kong.

The last time they’re on this level was back in 2018 during Typhoon Mangkhut.

So Hurricane Jova from the East Pacific became a Category 5 earlier but now has weakened to a 4.

Meanwhile… Hurricane Lee is now forecasted to become a Category 5 as well.

The good side is you guys aren’t seeing this storm get close to any US soil.

This is what they call Rapid intensification, went from being eyeless to having a well defined eye in less than 24 hours.

Such a terrifying yet satisfying transformation.

Now a full fledged 160 MPH Cat 5. This hurricane’s going ballistic on the Atlantic rn. So many warm waters ahead of this storm’s path because of that, it has a 180 MPH forecast in about 12 hours. Fucking mad.
