Okay, so apparently, if _*The New York Times_* is to be believed, "[Trump actually approved a military strike against Iran yesterday night, then called it off at the last minute":](https://edition.cnn.com/2019/06/21/politics/trump-military-strikes-iran/index.html) (as in: planes had already taken off when they got recalled).
