Most of these Firefox add-ons work in Chrome as well. I think you can also maybe turn GIFs off with NoScript?

Bottom line is that if you want a static version of an image instead of the standard generic spoilered image placeholder it’s something you’re going to have to do on your end.\

There’s no mobile version of Derpibooru, thank gawd; it doesn’t really need one anyway, since the basic interface is pretty low impact.

Not everyone is smart enough to figure that out. I personally knew it anyway.

Perhaps it could be a feature of the mobile site: Don’t load animated gifs without a confirmation first.

I would actually love it if Derpibooru had a mobile interface that simply made the buttons bigger and easier to click. It would make hitting the random button when browsing on your porn filter so much easier.

What’s done:

-> Responsive layout for image pages and forums
-> Fix & improve the search box
-> Collapse the sidebar on the activity page under narrower widths
-> Hamburger menu!
-> Unfix min/max-widths everywhere
-> CSS3 @media queries

Omg! Mobile just went live. The interface could be a little better formatted, since the gaps in places are a little wonky but only 1 major complaint.

Think you could move the logout button to the students menu on the left instead?

So derpi got some updates. Thoughts:

No thumbnail downvoting is a nice feature.
Derpibooru name being smaller is… weird. Can you make it at least slightly bigger than the menu bar?
I would appreciate it if the forum posts and comments’ horizontal length be restored to how it was. It creates too much blank space, and it doesn’t really make sense to make a post longer than one’s field of vision.

Oh, hey, since the UI changes were primarily intended to make the site more mobile-friendly, is there any way to increase either the size or spacing of the Upvote / Downvote / Comments buttons on the thumbnails? Those tiny little SOBs are the only real complaint I’ve ever had about how the site appears on mobile screens, because even using a stylus it’s INFURIATINGLY easy to click on the wrong thing. It seems like it shouldn’t be too difficult to just move the buttons further apart without changing anything else, since there’s a huge amount of empty space on either side of them in the grey bar over the thumbnail itself.

Putting score in between on image pages should be helping a little bit (at least with not hitting the wrong kind of vote), is it?
We may have to implement a user-option swipe gesture for voting (one button, swipe up to upvote, down to downvote, up and right to fave)

It’s not a problem on the actual image pages, where everything is plenty big enough to easily navigate; I do (almost) all of my voting from the thumbnail pages, though, and only actually open an image if I’m planning to comment on it or find the source so I can reblog it. From the thumbnails, the dagblasted buttons are just too tiny and close together on a dinky little cell phone screen, so even with a stylus it’s suuuper easy to Fave something instead of Upvoting it, or open it instead of Downvoting it.

It’s still better than one of the old layouts where Downvote and Fave were next to each other; I ended up with some reprehensible garbage in my Favorites List without realizing it.

Okay, so I suggested a slight redesign to the rating/score display. How we have it now is in the right direction, but feels a bit disorderly.

Under my suggestion, the numbers for up/downvotes would be in opposing alignments, with the total in the middle. The background behind the score could be made to change color based off certain thresholds of score (i.e. green or gold for high, red/purple for negative). Improving usability on mobile requires not only changing the layout, but making buttons bigger and easier to touch (but obviously they wouldn’t be this huge)
