For anti-Twilicorns:What will it take?

Well it was hard not to get our expectations high. After all it was a coronation. And Hasbro did spend quite a lot of money advertising it…
But i do agree we got a bit overhyped with it.
As i stated i am no fan of Twilicorn but i wont lose any sleep over the subject.
My only real complains over it do not have anything to do with the narrative implications of it.
At the end all i asked for MMC is to leave Twi as a likeable character, that happened (At least for me). Cool, Thumbs up i can still enjoy the show and her character!
My point is that we may be strecthing things a bit tmore than we ought too.
Besides there is a “confirmed” SE5 and it is highly likely we will get a SE6. So there is time for the writers to figure out what they can do with Twilicorn Rainbow power and any other stuff Hasbro might force on to them.

Or really, any character traits at all. Like how Celestia eventually lost her interesting character traits, or like how Cadance didn’t have any from the word go.
The question remains: can Luna avoid the same fate?

That kind of mentality gives us things like IDW Luna: a character that makes pretty much no goddamn sense within the context of the story, but is “funny.”
Alicorns were never anything but plot tokens from day one, Celestia is and always has been barely a character. The one chance a piece of media had to make her interesting shifted the focus onto a character no one had heard of before and just had “Wow, Celestia sure is a great mentor, isn’t she?!” as the moral. Yeah, that’s something we’ve never seen before.

There is no denying that Twilight certainly has the magic capability. Why doesn’t she disguise herself as a unicorn more? Even if others in Equestria already know she is the Princess, at least she’ll look more modest. I thought Twilight was the sensible type.

Sadly it is truth, as far as we have seen, princesses are only used as plot device, even thought they had some potential.
But i guess there is not much what you can do with them without making it too complex for the actual demogramographic

It’s just like finding El Dorado. But instead of claiming it and tapping it, they decided to leave it there to rot.
Also, just like late General Patton ranted at the end of the European WW2. Why didn’t the Americans press on into Berlin when they had the chance? Why leave it to the Soviets?
If you have the opportunity and capability. Press on! Do not hesitate.

Even thought i would like the show to use all its potential as much as the next guy. that does imply investing resources you do not have, or are not willing to give, since the return of your invesments might not be perceived as worth the hassel.
Hasbro knows that the pony dolls sell, and well, despite the quality of the main show. So there is no point in investing more into that aspect but if there is economic gain ( new toy line)then there is nothing wrong with making it worse.
