I know, hence why I’m the only one who ships them (though to be fair, Spitfire/Baerburn is (or was) also a thing, and the fandom love making characters gay due to appearances (like Dash)).

The former was that ships between characters that are very unlikely to meet isn’t unheard of, and the latter that fans love to make characters gay because of shallow traits, like Fizzle because he’s pink and Dash because rainbows and tomboy.

Or shoehorning characters into certain ships.

Yeah, even more so when you consider just how many more male characters we have on both fronts in comparison to season 1.

I didn’t intend for this to devolve into mocking gay headcanons or gay ships. :/

I’m not mocking them in general, just the ones that are formed by shallow reasons that people act like are canon.

You know, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The “canon!” people are the only ones I have problems with when it comes to shipping. Take that recent Equestria Girls episode I probably don’t even have to name, where almost every other picture uploaded for it was some variation of Rarity and Applejack blushing at each other. Now, I don’t care who people want to imagine together, and I get being excited if an episode seems to tease your ship. But I steadfastly believe no one among us gets to just arbitrarily declare a ship 100% canon.

Yeah, those people can be annoying at times. But at the same time, I’ve seen some anti-shippers act just as annoying.

But I want to see you guys make fun of my ships, and overreact to the most harmless one in a comedic fashion.

Every time I leave this thread for a while I come back to something unpleasant.
