Chrysalis may be evil but she is not stupid. She would not unleash a foe that could be a danger to her and her rule.
The Flim-Flam Brothers just want to make quick profit. They won´t start a war just to have revenge.
Lightning Dust and Iron Will are indeed not villainous at all.
Sombra on the other hoof is a tyrant and a monster.
This comic just does not make any sense. NOT CANON.

To be fair, Chrysalis is pretty villainous, (and like Sombra, I’d hate to see her do a “heel-face-turn” which is honestly becoming overdone) and the Flim-Flam Brothers, while not “villains” would do anything for cash, so they could easily be payed off, but perhaps have their limits. Though characters like Iron Will, Lightning Dust, and such never really seemed like the types who are that villainous at all. Fans even seem to forget Iron Will was actually very reasonable with Fluttershy.

I don´t know what was more annoying:
The ridiculous redemption of King Sombra or the villainization of these characters (especially my favorite Lightning Dust). Just horrible.

Exactly. Iron Will, Lightning Dust, and Flim & Flam would be scared shitless by Sombra’s presence since they never asked for this. Unless they were mind-controlled by Sombra to do his bidding, this is just insulting OoC bullshit.
With Chrysalis though, even though I see her (and Lightning Dust) in a good light, I think her obsession with trying to prove that she’s stronger than Twilight would keep her around as she would try to take advantage of the situation. It wouldn’t be until she hears about the Umbrum which makes her realize that her “victory” was too good to be true.

They actually could’ve made this team-up concept work if they realised they could treat them as characters and not just “Antagonist, right? That means it acts as a one dimensional cartoon baddie, right? right?…”

Because the storyline only asked for a distraction so these guys should’ve showed up for any reason with any outcome and still get the plot from A to B.

such as,
Iron Will actually BETRAYING the bad guys handing the Heart to the ponies after swiping it, only joining up to repay her doubt to FS by keeping the Heart safe in the first place. Of course, it turns out that the bags have been swapped, just like in the original.
Lightning Dust promised a chance to confront Dash and disinterested in anything else abandoning the bigger plan he was called in for the first chance, forcing the others to finish it without her maybe even ending up talking things through with Dash by the end.
Flim Flams quickly losing their shit after realizing they got involved in some bigger bad’s plan and not some honest scamfoolery. They are artiste, smart enough not to join up in some big crime.
And Chrysalis shouldn’t even be there, given that she’s not Twilight’s personal rival, and also a villain of a different league, and also had her own storyline. The whole “I can beat you with my hands tied” talk from Twilie was gross.
I’d actually rather have had Trixie back for this.
And in fact, if you proceeded like I pictured it above there’d be nothing objectionable about using her. She could’ve had a number of good reasons to show up.

None of them would’ve stayed around for Sombra’s part having all bailed out as soon as they realized what was going on. I mean, seriously, the Sombra/Hope storyline is solid enough on its own, it totally did not need any distractions like this, but ‘villain team-up story’ could have been used as a lead-in, a pre-story (since Sombra doesn’t show up until the end) still to make it stand on its own.

I recall, didn’t she keep failing at helping Rainbow in “Rainbow Falls?” That’s not my definition of “perfect.”

Also, I kinda liked “Twilight TIme,” and it was the first time Tiara & Spoon were a li’l nicer to the CMC. (Despite their motives, they were trying to help them become more popular.) Even Tiara stated she didn’t care for Twilight until she became a princess, and given how Twilight eats, I don’t feel the episode portrayed her as “Princess Perfect.” Aside from the kids in said ep’, (who acted like she was a celebraty) nobody else really treats her like “royalty.” (Nor do I think Twilight feels comfortable being treated as such sometimes.)

Ugh, gag, I hated twilight time >.<
Honestly, S4 was just terrible with treating twilight as this perfect paragon princess that only existed to show up and solve the problem by lecturing someone (like in Rainbow falls >.<)

I’m not a professor, I’m a mad scientist. :P

It’s also kinda ironic of you to subtley accuse me of being biased, and such.

(Also, here’s a shocker for you. Twilight isn’t my favorite character, nor am I 100% keen on everything about her either.)
I also love it when people like you try to say I’m “Pro-Twilicorn,” and such when I’ve stated before I’m more-so “neutral” on that old dinosaur of an argument, and I even stated before there were some things I didn’t like about “Twilicorn,” (like I did in my previous post below, I stated I feel there’s some wasted potential with it, and feel it hasn’t brought much “new” things to the show) and I even stated before on this site several times I would’ve preferred more development & foreshadowing prior to her “ascension.”

So you can’t really assume everything about a person, just ‘cause they don’t dislike all the things you do.

And yes, I even stated some of those things I said were my opinion, not facts. I’m just saying I disagree with you, I’m not trying to brainwash you or anything. Trying to get you to agree with anyone on anything would be a huge waste of time. (No offense.)

You lecturing me now? Let’s stick to the facts, professor. No use getting personal here.

Anyway, this last comment of yours is rife with opinions and feelings, which makes me think there is some bias at work here. You think Twilight is the main character of the show, you approve of her position as Princess of Friendship (gag), and you wish they’d highlight this elevated role of hers even more. As a result, you’ve concluded that there isn’t anything peculiar or negative about the situation.

But as far as I’m concerned, one look at that outrageously gaudy tree castle testifies how much things have changed, and not for the better. You’re free to think otherwise, but I haven’t encountered any compelling reason to alter my own perspective on this stuff.

“Still trying to get mileage out of that scene, are we?”

Remarks like this are why people think you’re kinda rude, dude. No offense, but you do come off as passive aggressive when discussing things with people here. Not nagging, you just need to work on it a bit, otherwise people aren’t going to take your opinions seriously.

Still, while she has gotten to help with special events, (something’s she’s actually done sense “Winter Wrap-Up,” because she’s good at organizing them) I honestly still don’t feel her role has changed, or her “Princesshood” has honestly changed much in the show. I still feel Season 1 was more “Twilight” focused then pretty much every season sense she became a princess. Just my opinion.

In fact, that’s actually my only real beef with “Twilicorn,” is I feel they haven’t done enough with it, or used it to enable Twilight, and her friends to do more, or go on new kinds of adventures.
Aside from the “Friendship map” which was introduced recently which has started to fix that a bit without changing the status quo’ to much.

Heck, nobody in Manehatten even seemed to notice she was an alicorn, and she couldn’t even get a taxi.
Still trying to get mileage out of that scene, are we? General acknowledgement of her title happens when the writers feel like putting it in. Twilight Time, for instance. And when they figure a scene needs that aspect to be ignored, that’s what they do. Overall, however, you’re dreaming if you think her role and behavior in the show hasn’t changed significantly.

As for the rest of your comment, I never said that Twilight solves everything. I said she’s always at the center of important events, even when it’s stupid to force her into that position.

I don’t know, her princesshood felt barely mentioned in Season 4, and most of Season 5 to me really. (Heck, nobody in Manehatten even seemed to notice she was an alicorn, and she couldn’t even get a taxi.)
Starlight Glimmer was one of the first newer characters to even regard it. So even if it’s there, it honestly doesn’t feel “thrown in our faces” constantly to me frankly.

Even the newest ep’ she didn’t exactly “solve” anything, or pull off the “Princess Perfect” thing that some fans claim she is. So she’s not always fixing everything, and some episodes (like Bats) she makes it worse, or somebody else solves the problem instead.

So I really don’t know if we’re looking at the show the same way really. I don’t feel so overexposed to Twilight, or her new princesshood really.

@Beau Skunky
In season one, Twilight’s role was merely catalytic. She wasn’t necessarily any more important than any of the others.

Whether an episode mentions her “princesshood” or not (and that does happen quite often), it’s always there, staring us right in the face. And any time something important happens, count on her being right at the center of getting it sorted out. Even when her involvement has absolutely no contextual significance.

Actually, I felt Season 4 barely even mention Twilight was a princess outside of the premiere, finale, and “Twilight Time.”

While Twi’ is basically the “main character,” I kinda get tired of people facetiously calling this the “Twilight show,” considering there are many episodes (even in the newest seasons) where she barely does anything, or is barely featured at all. So I don’t get it really.

Y’know, I felt ironically the most “Twilightlicious” season we’ve had is Season 1.

It still makes no sense that Starlight’s obsessed with twilight after that episode instead of fluttershy, seeing as how fluttershy’s the one who ruined everything for her and deceived her.

Which is odd, since I consider “The Cutie Map” to be one of Fluttershy’s shining moments.
