I read a story just the other day about a changeling that crashes into to the Everfree after the invasion. He loses his memory either from concussion or magic.
 
Adding to that his body automatically puts up a pony disguise as a defense mechanism, so he just believes he’s a pony that lost his memory.
 
He gets in good with the folks in Ponyville and it isn’t until months later the truth is revealed, but by then he is already trusted enough to stay.

It’s tracking the trajectory of a Changeling that got blasted out of Canterlot, showing how it landed in the Everfree Forest, within walking distance of Ponyville.
 
The idea is that very changeling did make it to Ponyville and is in fact the one at Cranky and Matilda’s wedding.
