Why they didn’t have Rabia mock Twilight for giving Sombra the incentive to unleash the Umbrum (zapping Radiant Hope), I’ll never know. It’s villainy 101, people! Good guy makes a fatal mistake, bad guys rub it in their face… sometimes, mercilessly and every chance they get. Seriously, though, Jeremy missed a perfectly good opportunity to have Rabia mock Twilight.

Good point. If Hope sees that her boyfriend and his family are a bunch of bastards and gives back the Heart, it’s pink blasty wave time.  
Or, possibly, someone could steal it again. Someone like, you know, the quick-fingered minotaur that stole it the first time, maybe?

And I don’t think that Sombra or the Umbrum know she still has it after recent events. That might be the ace in the hole they need to win.

Just a note… Cadance can’t do her “ultra heart blast thingy” that dismantled Sombra last time because as of this moment SOMBRA (or, rather, Hope) is the one who is holding the Crystal Heart. No Crystal heart, no pink blasty wave.

After learning this, I believe that Queen Chrysalis will not come back to fight for her choice, but will be Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Shining Armor, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Rarity that will go to her for ask her for help. And surely she will want something in return, given that Chrysalis certainly does not be satisfied simply to hear “the Umbrum are common enemies”, and so we will see if and how high will the price of the her help.

That’s what I had assumed, but there’s a big difference between being able to keep someone out and being able to take them head on in a fight. Assuming that Sombra was just as strong as… a… smoke monster, I guess, back then as he is now, it’s still two different situations. Still looking for something to back up that Sombra would have been hurt by her magic, if not just flung back a bit. The changelings at least had the excuse that Shining was helping her - and creating shields looks like it might be his special talent.

He’s probably talking about The Crystal Empire, where Cadance’s magic could keep Sombra out of the empire until she was too tired to keep it up.

Will be interesting to see how this wraps up. Hopefully some of the not-quite-villains can be convinced to help out by the rest of twilight’s friends.

I’m sorry, where was this stated? I want you to direct me to the page of the specific issue, (don’t even need a link, I’ll buy the comic myself if necessary,) where it says the Cadence’s magic can burn Sombra and all the umbra like fire and kick them out of the Empire. Last I checked, only the Crystal Heart can do that - which is an ancient artifact of untold power that is fueled by the collective desires, hopes and dreams of an entire people focused into a single object. Last I checked, that power wasn’t wielded by Cadence - that is in a relic that is nowhere in sight. That’s like saying that Twilight could take on Discord, Nightmare Moon and Chrysalis at the same time because she wielded an Element, which when used in conjunction with other Elements could defeat them. That’s not how things work.
 
If Cadence had this power, then she wouldn’t be bound and have her horn crystalized, would she? And again, if she did, are we so sure that she’d immediately use it - surely someone like her would hesitate to inflict so much harm, even on a villain. Don’t get me wrong, there are some stupid things in the comic - but this is not the time to discuss them. Do I like all the arcs or stories that are told? No, but I don’t blindly follow my own bias when looking at them. Unless I’ve missed an issue that tells me that Cadence and Twilight have the power to deal with this exact situation, you’re just hating on the comic for the sake of hating.

From the look of the first page of the preview, the rest of the Mane Six escaped, and before they were caught and had their magic disabled, Twilight and Cadence severed the train tracks to ensure the others would not be caught and made Prisoners Of War as well.

Which is why I suspect it’ll either be Hope doing something or Sombra suddenly having a Heel-Face-Turn.
 
But who knows, maybe the other supposed villains decide to free Twilight’s friends and attack.

Sombra is not taking any chances. With two Princesses petrified and the other two disabled from using their Alicorn magic, things look pretty bleak.

Then a gain cadance oculd have forced them ALL out of the empire. Then again the comic makers ignored that fact that sombra got his ass handed to him on a platter when Celestia and luna were inexperienced rulers and kids equally.

Except, you know, one is the princess of magic, the other is the alicorn that is powerful enoguh to literally force your OUT of the crystal empire as her magic burns you like fire.
 
Except the comic makers can end up suckign so badly at arcs like this, neither occurred to them.
